Manchester/Crewe ATW late service

Seems to be a random 2350 ish on Friday /Saturday nights (presumably just making an e.c.s. move into a passenger setvice)
It seems to be running this week and next and it ran last night
But not week after.. any info as to whether its going to be a regular feature !

It is indeed an ECS (off the 2017 Cardiff to Manchester) running in service. Usually happens if there's an evening football match or other event that would see greater numbers of passengers late at night on that route then normal, or as Phillipe mentioned, if it's a Northern strike day.

Before anyone asks however, it's a bit problematic to run it in service every night. Depending on the day of the week, it's booked to run any one of 3 different ways for route retention purposes, and even then it's still regularly diverted owing to engineering work.
