hey will the 365 be going to eastfield by rail or road
i was talking to a guy on the train and he said to me that the 365's were not in good conditon
likely they will be needing a servicing then?
AIUI from the RAIL article, the 365s that are going to ScotRail will be given a bit of TLC (mechanical fixing/the Saltire livery) at Springburn before progressing to Eastfield/Shields Road.hey will the 365 be going to eastfield by rail or road
It seems that the timetable has been changed from what was previously in Real Time Trains where the Falkirk Grahamston services were running to Edinburgh and now are not.
A post earlier (or it may have been on the 385 thread) suggested that units going up will be the ones fresh from being handed back from the Great Northern, rather than those which have been gathering dust.AIUI from the RAIL article, the 365s that are going to ScotRail will be given a bit of TLC (mechanical fixing/the Saltire livery) at Springburn before progressing to Eastfield/Shields Road.
Wonder if it's easy to route clear Class 365s for North Berwick and Dunbar.Given the shortage of stock they won't be launching the Grahamston - Edinburgh service or the Glasgow - Dundee semi fasts until at least December 2018 and probably more likely May 2019.
I don’t know how easy or otherwise it is but the 365s will have Route Clearance for passenger operation over the E&G (including Greenhill Upper to Polmont via Falkirk Grahamston), to Stirling, Dunblane & Alloa, and on the ECML to North Berwick and Dunbar.

This has to be why the units are going to Shields Road before entering service- an engineer's eye run over them to make sure they are fit for service; if not, make them so.They are not in bad condition, but it is fair to say the GTR have not taken the best of care of them as they are going off lease. It appears to the users that pre-emptive maintence is gone and they only fix things when the break.

I thought they were being subleased rather than return to rosco early then new lease? One would assume that they were handed back to Eversholt in a condition as stipulated in the lease agreement.

By rail. It’s over routes they will need clearance for when in serviceso will they be moving to eastfield by road or will they be going by rail?
They don't have shoegear, so why would it need to be removed? Also, entirely removing stepboards seems a little peculiar, surely you would want a smaller stepboard fitted in it's place?Shoegear and stepboards to be removed
It allows driver and guard training runs to take place. Meanwhile, route clearance checks are under way. If these reveal any fouls of gauge, if a modified stepboard solves the problem they can be soon modified and refitted. The alternative may be to alter structures (usually platforms) but that's not usually an option where a small fleet of trains is the problem. If the original stepboard size does not give route clearance problems, again they are soon refitable before passenger service. Also, entirely removing stepboards seems a little peculiar, surely you would want a smaller stepboard fitted in it's place?
Will the introduction of the class 365's allow Scotrail to reintroduce First class to the Edinburgh to Glasgow services?

That is what you’d hope, but isn’t necessarily always the case with off-lease stock. It probably depends how thorough Eversholt’s handback inspections are - if they are thorough then GTR will either have to fix the issues or pay Eversholt to have them fixed. One would assume that they were handed back to Eversholt in a condition as stipulated in the lease agreement.
Belts and braces! They shouldn't be there but if they are then they definetly need to be taken off. They don't have shoegear, so why would it need to be removed?

No, I don't think there are re-introducing First Class until the 385s enter service. I'm sute someone said as much in an above post. Besides, the 365s have 2+2 First as well.
