We've now done that service twice recently!

Waiting in Derby overnight, we then board the 05:42 East Midlands Trains service 2A06 to Matlock, arriving there at 06:15 Monday Morning.

We leave the railway station and take the four minute walk to the bus stop adjacent to the Old English on Dale Road where we board the 0645 Trent Barton The Sixes service 6.1 to Shottlegate (the bus stop adjacent to the Hanging Gate on Ashbourne Road) that arrives there at 0716 on Monday morning.

I am sure that this two hour wait at peak time at Derby is in direct contravention of the rules of this quiz.

Howsoever, I am most probably wrong in saying this, so perhaps it is now time to add this particular quiz to the other two that I am currently taking a sabbatical from.

This is valid, the rules allow for up to two hours beyond the first available service.

When posting moves, please do endeavour that they are realistic, whilst complying with the set rules at the same time. For example, it wouldn't be reasonable nor realistic, for someone to post a move which involves waiting at Clapham Junction for an hour and a half; trains pass through here much more frequently... whilst waiting two hours at a station such as Stowmarket would be more realistic as the station doesn't see frequent services.

I do think this part of the rules needs to be updated, however.

I’d argue that waiting two hours ish for a journey to Torquay would be realistic - there isn’t a service to this destination before, just a very generous (fail-safe) connection. Alas, let’s get back to game play!

This was one of the services we used during our weekend away last month around the area. We actually stayed in the Premier Inn just across as I get 25% discount however we would like to stay in The Grand next time.

Anyway, we could walk into the station and board the 2020 service to Birmingham but we remain in the area a little longer, as we board the 2017 Stagecoach South West service 12, with it's smart red Scania E400MMCs, to Paignton (Bus Station), arriving there at 2029 on Monday evening.

I’m also staying at a Premier Inn in Torquay in a few days time.

We take the 3 minute walk to Paignton Railway Station to take the 20:53 Great Western Railway 2F29 service to Exton where we arrive at 22:10 on Monday evening.

I note that 2F29 arrives in Exton at 13:38, having left Paignton at 12:13
The above isn't valid I don't think, there is a 20:35 on this route, but that's too close a connection to make, and it's the last train of the day doing the whole route.

The 2035 from Paignton is fine as the bus station is literally across the road from the station. The headcode is 2F57 and gets into Exton at 2153. Is this okay?

From Exton, we then take the eight minute walk to the bus stop on the A376, where we board the 2136 Stagecoach South West Gold service 57 to Countess Wear (Roundabout), arriving there at 2146 on Monday evening.

That's fine, although there's a problem in your move - maybe the 22:36 might be better ;).

Assuming you meant the bus arriving at 22:46, we then board the 23:27 Stagecoach South West service T to Exeter Odeon Cinema (stop 29) for a late night film, arriving there at 23:45 Monday Evening.

It was indeed the 2236 service I meant, I read the timetable an hour earlier by mistake!

The following morning, we board the 0535 Stagecoach South West service K to Exeter (County Hall), arriving there at 0544 on Tuesday morning.

Taking an 8 minute (0.4 mile) walk to Martford Lane (for County Hall), we then board the 06:30 Stagecoach South West (again!) service H to Exeter St David's Station (Stop A), arriving there at 06:45 Tuesday Morning.
