We then board the 22:48 Northern rail service to Huddersfield, arriving there at 23:22 on Thursday evening.

Huddersfield is a nice place to spend the night, so we do so and catch the 06:10 Northern Service to Sheffield as far as Penistone, arriving 06:41 Friday Morning.

This is a wonderfully scenic and rather underrated little line, so we decide to wait for the 07:18 Northern rail service to Huddersfield, which then takes us back over the Penistone Viaduct and through the pie capital of the country - not Wigan, but the town of Denby Dale. We leap out of the train upon reaching Brockholes, which we do at 07:36 on Friday morning.

We than decide that the bus would make a nice change to the endless stream of Northern Rail Pacers (ok, well maybe not much of a change...). We amble down from the station to take service H6, an 08:32 Stotts Coaches service from Oakes Lane/ Brockholes Lane, taking it to Holmfirth Bus Station (Stand D), arriving 08:46 Friday Morning.

We then board the 0858 First Halifax, Calder Valley & Huddersfield service 310 to Huddersfield (Bus Station), arriving there at 0929 on Friday morning.

Next, we walk to the spectacular railway station in Huddersfield and board the 09:46 TransPennine Express rail service to Scarborough, arriving there at 11:29 on Friday morning.

We transfer to a bus to go down the coast from West Square on the 12:05 East Yorkshire 120 to Bridlington Quay Road, arriving at 13:19 Friday afternoon.

After spending a pleasant time admiring the rock formations and eroding cliffs, we then catch the 15:25 EYMS 510 bus back to Bridlington Queensgate, arriving at 15:43 on Friday Afternoon

From St Johns Street we them get the 16:02 East Yorkshire service 512 to Bridlington Bus Station, arriving at 16:14 Friday afternoon.

We then board the 16:35 EYMS route 46 bus service to Middleton-on-the-Wolds (Front Street), arriving there at 17:32 on Friday evening.

That appears to have been the last departure of the day, so we then board the first service the next day, which is the 1032 East Yorkshire Motor Services route 45 to York (Piccadilly), arriving there at 1136 on Saturday morning.

Whilst most timetables show this as only going as far as Pocklington, buses run right through.
