Fare, Seer Green to Amersham

I had to make this journey yesterday, I was shocked to find that it cost me £20.20. Admittedly it is quite a long journey by rail, though it is the only real alternative, the actual stations are about 6 milea apart and there is no bus service.

There is no fare available for this journey without splitting, either via London or Aylesbury. Is there anyone I can contact to try and get something done.

I would have thought that a sensible fare would have been the same as the Seer Green Aylesbury fare, (11.20) which would leave no opportunities for travelling short etc. but would make the journey affordable.

Is it worth contacting Chiltern to see if anything can be done about this, or is there anyone else I should speak to?

How about train to Gerards Cross and then 353 bus?

According to google you can get the 336 bus from Beaconsfield.

There are a number of examples like this on the network. It’s not really acceptable but there isn’t much thatvcan be done. I suggest you do get in touch though as it cannot hurt. Others may know of other avenues you can go down too.

I think there are thousands no doubt! Anywhere we you have two parallel lines with no junctions between the two

Traveline Southeast suggests Carousel Buses 580 and 336, changing at Beaconsfield. Zone A/B day ticket £4.50

Trainsplit is offering that journey at £19.00, splitting at High Wycombe & Aylesbury, so you could have saved £1.20.

I do not know if Customer Services will pass it on a message to the pricing manager if you contact them, but as you have posted it here, it is guaranteed to be read.

So probably no need to contact them further, though it may be worth doing so to see what response you get.
