London Underground Zone 1 no ticket needed

There is currently two stations in Zone1 that you can enter without a barrier.

Anyone know which two they are?

I do not understand the title; "no ticket needed"?!

I guess technically you never need a ticket for travel on LU as you can use PAYG, but your choice of thread title does seem suspicious.

I meant to put handy when you lose you day travel card on the tube back to Waterloo or Euston.
I have fare Dodgers so it is true you can enter without a ticket or tapping in but im highly against it

Access to the lift to the westbound platform was unbarriered.

It was only for customers going via the lift to the Westbound (Inner Rail) platform. The lift brings you up at the south side of the gateline, by the entrance/exit on the south side of Euston Rd. As stated, part of the gateline was rebuilt about a year ago and now covers the lift too. If coming from the main entrance on the north side of Euston Rd (ie. where you’d enter if coming from Euston station) three you kept walking past the gateline and the lift can be seen on the left.

For as long as I can remember the isolated nature of the W&C has meant that checks have only been needed at one end.

Who said anything about going back to Waterloo? You only pass through the gateline at Bank if exiting the station; there is a tunnel to all other lines, including DLR, which does not require a customer to pass through a gateline. The aforementioned DLR lift to exit at King William St is also unbarriered.

Thanks, like most people I've never used that lift! Was there a reader for Oyster users to tap in there, as otherwise it would cause problems when tapping out?

If you lose your ticket then you have no ticket, and you would therefore be evading your fare...

In theory, in line with many DLR lifts, pressing the button to contact staff in the DLR Control room. However I have been told by staff at the station that the lift just operates anyway, and this is my experience of other DLR lifts too.

When the button is pressed it makes an intercom type of noise also there is a sign saying to operate lift press button and speak to the control room, the lift down to the platform is the same but it comes as so as I press the button.

Yes, I know what the sign says, my point is that despite what the sign says the lift always operates regardless.

Not for long though, I believe that exit is going to be rebuilt as part of the Crossrail/Sub-Surface Lines interchange at Moorgate station, and therefore the lack of ticket barriers is only temporary
