Hello All just one or two questions

Can someone tell me by how many minutes the 1735 from london charing cross to orpington via grove park yesterday was officially delayed ?
If you walk along the train tracks are you still eligible for delay repay ? Is this a crime to walk along tracks?
If the train company reschedules trains/ issues a new timetable the day before you are due to travel eg reducing the service to half hourly and making the last train significantly earlier are you eligible for extra compensation?

:D

Unless you are directed to by a member of railway staff or a police officer, yes. The crime is trespass.

Otherwise, nice to see you have your priorities right.

well thats fine the driver was outside pointing people where to go , presumably he counts as a member of staff although the fact that he seemed incapable of relaying info suggests otherwise

Southeastern are currently offering double delay repay compensation to passengers that were delayed by over 30 minutes which would qualify as extra compensation as they don’t have to do that.

You are entitled to the maximum amount of compensation offered. Somebody might have internal train running data for the service but it arrived late enough to claim the maximum amount.

It rather depends how you came to be on the tracks doesn't it?

If you were instructed to leave the train (or station platform) onto the tracks then that's fine.

If you detrained (or walked onto the tracks) without previous instruction or advice to do so then you were committing an offence.

If the OP was referring to Friday's incident at Lewisham a British Transport Police spokesman said no arrests were made but refused to rule out the possibility they might be.
"Technically it is an offence of trespass," he said. "No one was arrested at the time but how the investigation develops will be a matter for investigating officers."

Southern agreed that the delays were excessive, but made clear that travellers jumping down onto the tracks put themselves and others in danger and they had to turn off the power resulting in many more delays whilst Police & TOC staff cleared members of the public from the tracks. They are now leaving the investigation to the Police and there is a great deal of photographic evidence available. There was at least one journalist on board one train who reported on the matter saying that the driver was attempting to get info and get things moving, but despite being advised not to, some frustrated travellers took matters into their own hands.
