I know that eight of these vehicles are operated by Stagecoach Newcastle. How many East Lancs Kinetics were built in total, and which companies operate them?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Perth had 22501 - 22507. 22507 went up in flames and never went back on the road. Perth's Kinetic's are now training vehicles at Fife with the exception the last time I checked was 22505, and I think this is the only one refitted with a Cummins engine.

Western had 22508 - 22516 and a few went to Fife before ultimately ending up in Newcastle. I think one ended up in Yorkshire IIRC.

22508 - 22515 are in Newcastle, so 22516 will be the one in Yorkshire. 22511 has not been used in service since arriving in Newcastle over a year ago, possibly being used as a source of spare parts?

Any other operators of these vehicles, or just Stagecoach?

There was another one which was CU56AVP with Whitelaws which then went to NAT Group but not sure if that one is still there. Other than that, that's it...

It looks the the Stagecoach Newcastle fleet and the NAT group vehicle are the only ones still in service then. I knew that there weren't many of them but I didn't realise just how few there were.

And the one remaining one in Perth still on the go, but that's the lot.

Last known as being with Pride of the Clyde in 2013. Seems to have disappeared after that.
I've looked on their website and there isn't any mention of it on there anymore, so I think it may have moved on somewhere else, can't work out where it may have gone though...

Listed for sale with a dealer in September 2014:

A database check shows that it's currently on SORN, so presumably parked up in the back of somebody's yard somewhere. Perhaps it suffered some mechanical dramas and the bits to rectify it aren't readily available over here? It's 11 years old and unique after all.

Looks like a nice machine.

22516 was also scrapped following fire damage, back in 2014.
All the current Newcastle examples arrived there via Yorkshire.

Possibly the best looking vehicle from the East Lancs stable. They never really were in the business of producing attractive-looking vehicles!

Indeed; can see a few design elements lifted from the Optare Spectra (itself a rather stylish vehicle) in it's design (mainly in the front windscreens):

Wow, that's a vehicle to preserve as it may also be the only MAN Lion's City double-deck 5assuming that is what it is.

There are double-deck MAN Lion's Cities in Berlin.

That double-deck Kinetic is however the only double-deck Lion's City with right-hand drive. It is still listed with a dealership though, so one would assume that it still exists somewhere.

It's certainly one of their more pleasing efforts! Although I found most of their more recent stuff generally pretty smart. Odd how the chassis seems to have a strangely narrow track rear axle though, which gives the back end a slightly awkward appearance. And of course its 'face' is standard MAN issue, not designed by the bodybuilder.

£30k seems steep for a decade old one-off, it'd be a step into the unknown for whoever buys it!
