It was 0Y07 13:00 Carlisle New Yard to Carlisle New Yard

I'm pretty sure the device on the front films/records the track for monitoring purposes (for Network Rail) - 66571 has been doing out-and-back circuits from Carlisle New Yard the last couple of days.

(Also note I edited the above post re 0M69 for 66301's new(ish) name.)

Thanks again Tim!

That's pretty much what it does - surveys things like track intervals (distance between sets of running lines) and structures etc. Used to assist in gauging for new rolling stock etc.

Actually, the one I've quoted you is the second run it did that day - I believe looking at the time of the DRS move, you saw it on its first circuit (passed Abington at 12:11 and 12:57) - unfortunately I don't have the real headcode for this one, but the path/scrambled headcode is as follows:
"067W" 0811 Carlisle N.Y. to Carlisle N.Y. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/U22148/2018/02/05/advanced

Hopefully someone may have the real headcode for it?

0M69 11:53 MOTHERWELL TMD (DRS) to Kingmoor Siding DRS

You're welcome as always :)

(66301 was named "Kingmoor TMD" at the DRS Open Day last year if you want to add that to your caption ;) )
66016 is one the locos purchased by gbrf from db cargo isnt it.
Any idea hows it ended up on this working hired in for weekend engineering possibly.

Hi, I have been chasing 323242 up and down the Cross City line for a while now without a sniff. Can anyone please tell me if it is putting in an appearance anywhere today or tomorrow? Thanks.

I'm on a Thames Rover this week after my last three power cars for haulage, 43087, 43091 & 43149. Can anyone provide any info on whether they are out today and their planned workings? Many thanks.

Anyone know what the ews on freight outside biggleswade at 1056am please. Heading towards London
66158 was reported as being at Biggleswade Plasmor Brick Terminal just south of Biggleswade at that time - would be on wagons like these probably: https://flic.kr/p/FVytNu (not mine)

Can't see any other likely freights in the vicinity?

Seen in passing at Oban last Friday 2nd Feb. A yellow liveried train with two class 37s - one at each end. Any idea what it is please?

It will have been one of the Network Rail test trains - should've been 2x Colas 37s on each end - 37116 and 37421

It worked to Oban on the Wed night/early hours of Thursday on this: 3Q31 23:04 Mossend Down Yard to Oban
It then went on to Fort William very early hours of Friday: 3Q32 00:53 Oban to Fort William Station Sidings
Friday late evening it then did a run from FTW to Mallaig and back... 3Q33 19:40 Fort William Station Sidings to Fort William Station Sidings

However, it would've been Thursday (1st Feb) it was at Oban and then at Fort William on Friday. It's unlikely there'd be anything else matching that description up there on those days, so suspect that's what you saw.

Hi there. I’m after knowing the rear power car on the 1B35 - 13:12 from Reading to Swindon today (8th feb). I know 43009 was on the front.

Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks.
