Thought it would be best to create a new thread for people like myself to discuss the pre-employment stages. I’m in for a signalling role awaiting my medical results so I can get my dates for signalling school. Look forward to meeting people in the same boat as myself.

Good idea.

I have been accepted and passed the medical etc but on the long wait until I start in April. (I start at Three Bridges ASC in April for induction then off to signal school soon after)

That is pretty much all I know for sure at this point but looking forward to starting.
Congrats! I hate waiting around for things so hoping to get my medical results this week then get my start date! Hopefully will be in signalling school come April

Hello all,

My first post and saw this thread come up so thought I’d join in. I’m just waiting on 2 applications to develop further. Was hoping to find out some details on what’s involved in the part 2 assessment that I’m waiting for?

Assessment 2 is for interview. They have streamlined the recruitment process recently and taken away the assessment day!

That’s fantastic news, thank you.

So is it that interview then a further interview with a panel or just the one interview?

Location
West Sussex
Currently at Test Completed.
The closing date for internal applicants is 13th Feb apparently, so I wouldn't expect to see much more progress on this until 20th Feb onwards.

Same for me, fingers crossed with this one as it’s closer to home for me plus that 24% shift allowance sounds decent

Anyone have any news on Lancing signaller position. Since 15th Jan mine has been sitting at pending invite to assessment 2 (interview)
It is not normally this long a wait when you get to this stage

Hi Sinstah,
I wouldn't worry too much about the timings - I have had one at 'Invite to assessment 2 pending' since january 8th and I have only just received an invite to the interview this morning (Peterborough)

I'd relocate without a problem. Prepared to go wherever the work is to be honest, and my wife is from Cambridgeshire so we are looking to move back up that way.

Hi everyone. I’m really new to Rail and come from an ambulance/fire control background so hope I have the right transferable skills. I’ve applied for the Grade 8 Signaller position in West Hampstead. This seems like a senior role (higher pay at least) after a quick scroll through the forums. Are these positions open to the man on the street so to speak or aimed at internal candidates? I applied yesterday and have been invited to complete an online assessment. Any advice for taking my application further should I pass would be greatly appreciated :)

Same for me, I contacted the HR department and they said I’m on the list for interview but they’re just waiting on the interview schedule.

I applied for a grade 2 in cornwall a few months back and got to the interview stage but sadly missed out. I just applied for a grade 4 and its automatically added the previous assessment i did to this application and now it says under consideration. Just hoping if i get an interview it goes okay this time :/
