No idea, but it'd seem very remiss not to do that, as SWR can't afford to have more than one unit OOS for a refurb at any one time; it makes sense to do all the work in one tranche than bring it out for one thing and then send it back for another further down the line.
SWT have two 444s out of service at a time for refurb - they have been offset by 3 450s on the Pompey Direct. It had hoped to have two full length trains in refurb at once. It had been hoped that the 442s would have been in a usable condition to train a small pool of drivers/guards and push into service un-refurbished to cover but that was not the case. As such refurbishment now likely to take until Easter 2019.

Can you clarify that, please. You said that there are two 444s being refurbished at a time, but then say no refurbishments are taking place until Easter. Do you mean that there will be two at a time being refurbished starting from Easter?

I’ve updated my message - meant that they expect 442 refurbs to go on for another 3 months now. They were originally all expected in service as at December 18.

When will 158/159 fleets be fully refurbished ?
Externally, the 158s and 159/1s are already all done. Not sure when work on the 159/0s' exterior will begin, or when the interior work commences, but December 2018 was the completion date last I heard.
EDIT: 159007 ran up to L'boro (as 5M99 from Salisbury T&RSMD) on Wednesday the 10th.

Do you mean livery? I saw a SWT 158 yesterday coin Cheltenham - Swindon yesterday.
What I mean is that they've all had C6 (if I remember correctly) work at Loughborough - all the 159/1s and 158/8s (bar the last 3) emerged in SWT colours, but since 158887, 158888 & 158890 were all done within the new franchise, they've got SWR livery instead.
But yes, everything in the 158/8s and 159/1s has had exterior work of some description.

I saw two 158s at Fratton the other day, one in SWR and one in SWT. One thing that was very noticeable is that the yellow area on the front hasn't actually changed size, it has always been that slightly odd cut-off just above the wheel height. The difference is that the dark blue is so much more contrasting than the SWT red that it looks... odd.

The shade of yellow on the SWR livery compared to the SWT livery is slightly paler too from my observations.

I noticed that even on 444040, it's now a kind of 'snotty' yellow for want of a better word. ;)

Yes, it does appear to be more towards the green/"cold" end of yellow; the SWT yellow is noticeably closer to orange, and is much warmer.

On Desiros I've forgotten what the shade of yellow is like because in recent years it's been hidden under a layer of black filth.

Updated with 159003, now in SWR new livery.

Anybody know what has been done to the interior?

159003 passed through Oxford today at about 13:50 in SWR livery heading south. There was a track circuit failure which prevented anything going in or out of platform 1/2 for a while, luckily "Driver Speaking" was at the helm and directed us to the 500 bus to Oxford Parkway where Chiltern were terminating until NR had the problem sorted.

Quite a lot of Class 455’s now have SWR branding, only 1 455/7 I saw doesn’t.

Just saw 442419 being hauled through Bournemouth by 37 'Andromeda'... It looked very smart in plain grey, shame it will be going stripey...
