I'm interested to know when the last NSE loco hauled set ran on the Chiltern Main line. I know that the last one on the GWR ran on 3rd July 1992 the last one on the WCML ran on 10th May 1990, I think the last one on the WAML ran on the same day and the very last NSE loco hauled sets were on the West Of England line until 10th July 1993. But what about the Chiltern because I saw a YouTube video of a 47 set at Marylebone please enlighten me.

I will look through my old mags but I remember there was a semi regular peak turn right up till the Networkers were introduced.

It was almost always hauled by the same dutch livered 47/3 as it was the only ATP fitted loco at the time I believe.

I have a picture somewhere of a 47/7 ( I think ) at Marylebone on that. I'll have to try to find it... It is somewhere on the forum already though.

I did 47707 to Banbury via High Wycombe on 3/6/91 but it originated from Paddington (1757 Paddington to Banbury). It was a full NSE rake of mk1s/ and a couple of early mk2s.
At Banbury 47707 ran around and headed back to Paddington via the normal route.
Peter - I think I remember us having this discussion before. ;)

What I have found so far is 47334 was the regular loco as it was ATP and/or tripcock fitted.

19/2/1992 is the last mention I can find of it at Marylebone. No mention of if it was on passenger duty though.

I think we did - if you think you can find my post with the Marylebone picture in it, please do!
I think your picture was in post 568574 but I can’t work out how to bring it up? It was taken in March 91.
It was mentioned on the thread ‘Chiltern Mainline during the 70s and 80s’ if that’s any help?
