As others have said Burnham Station (which was originally named Burnham Beeches, then Burnham Bucks), is closer to the Mars factory than Slough Station. Burnham Station is now in Berkshire but Burnham Village (and the Beeches ancient woodlands) are still in Buckinghamshire, (all due to the 1974 boundary changes). Burnham is on my Birth Cert. Co-incidentally Burtons Chocolate Wagon Wheels use to made in a factory less than a half a mile from the Mars factory, and many of the great Supermarionation TV programmes were filmed within 200 yards of the Mars Factory. Burnham Beeches is delightful, but Slough, well Betjeman was bang on!

I bought my first flat in Burnham, hated having Slough on my postal address.

As for Chocolates, Cadbury's has never been the sale since it was "globalized" and shrinkflation is hitting confectionary more than many other products.

Blue or Red ?
I wasn't aware that the red bounty was still available; I certainly haven't seen them around for years.

That reminded me that I was given a bag of Celebrations for Christmas. I just went to open the damn thing and needed to find a pair of scissors!

I suppose that's the diet gone out of the window.

One of each. It's the only way to be sure.
I'm not sure my Co-Op stocks a red one - what is it? I've decided to donate the Ferrero to the foodbank via Sainsbury, so someone who likes them can enjoy them.

Gotta say, I kinda like the Roses. I like the coffee ones...

Heroes are nice. Not fussed about Quality Street but they’re OK. I don’t like Celebrations very much. They taste cheap.

My parents have just told me that there are loads of unsold Xmas goodies left over in the supermarkets in Kent.

Needless to say, absolutely naff all up here in the shops in Yorkshire.

Staff had them all, I expect - it's the same in Cornwall!

You have to feel sorry for Liz and Phil the Greek. The Post Code for Windsor Castle is SL4 1NU. (A Slough Post Code)

I'm pleased to see the red (dark chocolate) Bounty has been mentioned several times in this thread. That used to be my favourite chocolate bar when I was a kid – and funnily enough, one of the few places I knew of that sold it was the little shop on the Waterloo & City line platforms at Bank. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes Bounty bars and who also enjoys dark chocolate.

In terms of chocolate selections, I miss Mingles. :( It seems to me that Quality Street, Roses, Heroes are all pretty mediocre these days. I enjoy Celebrations, but less so since they got rid of the Galaxy truffles some years ago. I also get very annoyed at how unbalanced the selections are – e.g. in Heroes the quantity of the ‘solid’ chocolate options (e.g. Wispa, Dairy Milk) will be far lower than the ones with the overly sweet and presumably cheaper centres. I never seem to find more than a few Teasers in Celebrations, too.

Always thought that the Mars dark chocolate on Bounty's tasted much better than Bournville dark chocolate. I came across a limited edition dark chocolate Mars Bar a few years back. Superb.

Ooh I'd love to have tried that! Similarly I find dark KitKats are nicer than the normal milk variety too. (Although I've stopped buying them now since the layer of chocolate became wafer-thin, no pun intended.)

Having finished my "Plasic Roses" I can confirm next time I will be opting for Quality Street.
