Launch of the 4-SUB Association

The 4-SUB Association has been formally launched. Whilst the website remains in need of further work, membership is available in preparation for the 'big move' of the 4-SUB and the Class 503 to their new home which is very much undercover. The Association acts as the link between the members and the Trust being formed to separate the 4-SUB and 503 from the rest of the Suburban Electric Railway Association fleet.

Membership is only £15 for the year and applying now will give you a free 2018 calendar which has been very well designed and printed. Members will also receive the newsletter by post or email on a regular basis.

The Association also has Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/4SUBunit/) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/4SUB4732). Keep an eye on these for the latest info. 2018 promises to be quite the year for the unit!

You can also send us a message on this site if you would be interested in setting up a standing order or direct debit to aid the Association from as little as £1 per month - all donations will be greatly appreciated.

Best of luck with the restoration - I saw the SUB at Coventry in October in its faded state, it will look really impressive with some tender loving care (and under cover at long last, hurrah!)

You mentioned the Wirral 503 - is that no longer with SERA then? I think I've lost track of all the things that have been happening with the stock since the ERM closed. Is there a separate group being formed for the 503?

The 503 will join 4732 in a new Trust dedicated to the two units. This will be separate from SERA.
