Yep it is, when qualified. It's pro rata of full time rate £53k. So 16 hours = £24k. Full time training is 35 hours at £32k.

So it is technically more money when qualified but reduced hours so in reality it's a pay cut after training.

Yeah, but £24k for a 2-night week isn't exactly a low wage, especially if you have the means to top up on your days off.

It's more than adequate but you're giving up every weekend and only working the 2 nights is a killer as it takes a few days to get back to a normal sleeping pattern and then your back on nights again, you're constantly readjusting your body clock.

When is your medical...no need to be nervous if you give yourself about a week to detox...but the medical...Has this test where u r in some booth all alone..they don't play with their medicals

I don't have a medical yet, waiting. Not sure if background checks been completed. Not worried about the drugs n alcohol as I don't do either. Been in detox for the last 2 years lmao

I guess it depends on your background I was a panel night-bus driver for 6 years, then went on to 5 years of working on coaches. I haven't had a sleep pattern outside of "Grab it when you can" since I was in my early 20s...........

On my course alone there were supposed to be 10 externals but 3 were failed on the medical...

On 30k while training but I seen then we go to full time pay after training then bk down to part time pro rata

They give the difference from training to full time rate in a lump sum ? Then drop down to part time wage ???

If you go over 12 weeks training, you'll be paid at the higher salary for the extra time you do (on a weekly basis).

Basically after week 12 you are on the same hourly rate as a full driver but the hours vary so there is no lump sum due.

That's perfect know I can budget now for when I start i.e. Travel cost to London as will need a season ticket but also see if driving in to a depot will be cheaper as I live in colchester

Wow Colchester.....won't be too bad on 2day a week...but will be a long day long training days...unless u weigh it up and stay at a budget hotel so u r not exhausted on training days

Think the take home is poss a bit low as im on 24700 in my current job and my take home is 1660.

Yep 1350 sounds right for the wage advertised for the job.....guess you taking a pay cut for less hours...unless you are doing 16 hours in your current role

Its 24 qualified part time i believe, i Just went to listentotaxman, a great site tell you the take home. 24000 is 1623 take home, tho thats without any pension deductionts.

Im not sure but even 23, a grand less before tax is about is 680 after tax and ni, which is 55 a month would take it down to about 1570 ish.

Well in my other job I was on 23 and I took home 1300 ..hence y I sed before 1350 would make sense ...best thing is just to wait and see ..and see what gets deducted....

Yea i dont know what gets deducted except tax and ni, mind you as an aside my mrs is on 23 and takes home 1550 with 1% off for pension.

Depends really as have a young family at home works out I get home about 7 pm most nights and have to get the 7am train while at acorn then we see when I start shift work driving with the instructor

They say up to 75% off a season ticket and free travel on all tfl services when does this kick in while training or after completion of training. As if it at the start I can get a season ticket to Stratford saving money as I can then travel from there free on dlr or over or Underground

You'll get your Oyster card on the first day at Ashfield House.

There are also some National Rail lines you can use it on. Like Stratford - Liverpool Street on Greater Anglia and if you have a season ticket then the train won't need to stop at Stratford. Or TfL Rail to Shenfield...
