Advance Tickets at Christmas??

I am looking to Travel to London from Crewe On Dec 23rd for Christmas and wanted to know when will Virgin or LM put there Advance Tickets on sale for the Christmas week? so I can get in first and get the Cheap ones lol.

I know we are 6 months away.

Advance tickets go on sale 3 months in advance of travel, so from that point on keep an eye out for the cheap tickets (they wont necessarily be available immediately so keep checking)

There may well be major engineering works on that route, and possibly limited or no advance tickets when you want to travel.

Quite possible, but in my experience normal services seem to run almost across the board until the afternoon of Christmas Eve :)

In an interview in the May 2009 edition of Modern Railways, either the MD or COO of Virgin was celebrating that there will be no large-scale closure of the WCML at Christmas 2009. Unfortunately I no longer have my copy, but someone else may be able to give an accurate quotation.
