I have a 2002 Chrysler PTCRuiser. It has 108,000+ miles on it. It is great! The 2.4L I-4 is plenty powerful with a 4-speed automatic ttans. %90+ of all cars sold here have automatic. I learned to drive manual 40 years ago on a Ford pick-up truck. Picture won't take!

Now I live in Birmingham, because the public transport is so fantastic I don't have to drive. I used to drive a Toyota Aygo though which was great, nice and small (but not too small), could get up to good speeds on the Motorway and also good fuel efficiency and low emissions.

I drive a slow but efficient Seat Cordoba 1.9 turbo diesel. It's from 1997 and has 157k miles on it. Never gives me trouble and get about 53mpg out of it. Wish I could make a permanent swap to what I'm driving on 9th July. My wife got me a drive in a Lamborghini Gallardo at Mallory Park circuit

I have a Peugeot 106 1.1, but I am saving up for something a bit bigger with a bigger engine. Thinking a new Ford Fiesta or a Ferrari F430 at the minute ;)

That engine will make a Clio "shift" much more. :D
My first 'proper' car after starting as a guard was a J(1992) reg Clio 16v. It had a 1.8 16v of 137bhp in a car weighing 935kg. That set my first boundaries for rapid transit, and several country lanes were treated with little respect. Whilst it's unfair to say so after I got to do such things, I can now see why people want more restrictions on cars for newer drivers. Under our current crazy rules any competent 17 year old could pass their test in and drive a Ferrari 430 with no obstruction except the costs. That can't be sane can it?

I don't drive cars but my folks have a 1.9 2008 Astra CDTi, which has an old Alfa straight 6 tweaked a bit if memory serves me correct. But a very good mate of mine has one of these <D:

It's very very lovely.....
The diesel in your parents Astra is shared with Alfa but I'm not sure who developed it. It is definately not a straight six though, it is an inline four as it has 16v. The larger Alfa 2.4 JTD diesel is a 20v ergo a 5 cylinder. According to my browsing the last Alfa to have a straight six was made in the late 50s to early 60s so I hope Vauxhall didn't put that in your parents car :)

 Ahh Right. I'll go and inspect it and do a bit of browsing on the net. Cheers for that though:)

I've got an 03 Punto Mia, as well as 1.6 1302S VW Beetle (bright yellow) from 1972. Love it to bits.

My cousin in Melbourne has an old Ford Laser, 1994 I think, which has been nicknamed the Tealmobile after it was finally decided that that's what colour it actually is
lol My previous car was a Ford Laser, except it was a 1990 hatch, best car ever! Until one day it got rear-ended by a Nissan.. Same thing happened to my first car which was also a Ford and written off by a Nissan, so hence why I have a Nissan.

I drive a Volkswagen Passat Estate on an 06 plate, Automatic, 3.2 litre engine v6, 4Motion, 249bhp as standard, for a supposedly heavy car it goes like a rocket, looking at getting it chipped :D

Nice family car too ;)

I drive a 2001 reg Ford Fiesta, 5-door in dark green.

I've nicknamed it the Fiesta of Hate because of the music I listen to ;)

Future plans hopefully should see me owning a 2008 VW Polo 1.4 TDI which I drove on my driving lessons, very nice car with lots of torque :)

When I was a whipper snapper I used to own an old Saab 900, but I didn't use it enough to justify the insurance, tax and petrol costs. I just rent a car whenever I need one; either Enterprise for cheap Friday-Monday weekends or Hertz for the miles I collect with bmi. That way I get plenty of variety... in the last few years I've had a Kia Cee'd, Fiat Puntos, a Nissan Note, a Ford Focus, Vauxhall Corsas & Astras, a Zafira, a couple of Vivaro panel vans, a Toyota HiAce truck. Mostly all very dull, but always brand new, clean, reliable and not mine to worry about :D

I'm still learning (hopefully not for long, though!). I'm driving a blue V-reg Ford Fiesta outwith my lessons. Not a great car, but it gets me from A to B. I'm looking at getting a Clio; that's what I drive in my actual lessons and it's a good car. That said, we also have a newer Fiesta which I've been told is a great car so I might consider going onto that one instead.

I don't really want that big a car; a little economical one will do fine for me :)

I can't currently afford a car, so I'm driving my mum's Renault Megane Scenic 01 Privilege Monaco DCI 1.9 - it's a bit of a beast!
