I have recently been offered a qualified drivers role on the West side , can anyone please share their thoughts on the company and what they like or dislike about working there, any information would be great. Many thanks.

I haven’t been driving for long, but from what I gathered from long standing drivers they all seemed to think MTR is very driver friendly, and the driver managers are fairly decent bunch, quite approachable. Apart from a few lil quirks, I have nothing bad to say about the company. Oh, Sunday + Night (about 5/6 nights a year) Driving are part of contract.

Thanks for the insight, do you work for MTR?

Don’t think they’ll advertise for trainee role for a while yet as the last recruitment drive was only few months back. MTR adopts above national level pass mark for the OPC, so really it’s up to the individual applicants how well prep they are, The more they put in the batter chances they stand during the recruitment process. Never say never, they might still need a few more more drivers to make up the desired numbers for Old Oak Common + future Maidenhead Depot, so fingers crossed 2018 it might come up again

I'd keep an eye on the MTR Crossrail website for some more Trainee Driver positions at Abbey Wood / Plumstead depot in the next few weeks. Unfortunately I don't have an exact date.
