Hi quick question... have an off peak return Dartford to Liverpool
Am planning to return Tuesday of this week
Can I go via Marylebone and Birmingham on this ticket?
If so any idea when the loco hauled services are from Marylebone and what is latest afternoon service that I can use before the evening peak
Thanks in advance for any help

Assuming you have an Off-Peak Return from Dartford to Liverpool Stations, route "Any Permitted" and restriction code 9I for £89.50, then you can indeed go via Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone and travel on these services. I don't know what time they run off the top of my head though.

On the return journey all you need to do is ensure you are on a train scheduled to arrive at Marylebone after 11.30. There are no evening restrictions on the return.

Thanks.. so if I’m reading this right... unlike leaving Euston - where I can’t between 1500 and 1900 there is no restriction from Marylebone so I can leave between these times from there to Moor Street?

Yes correct re ticket type

Restriction code is 2c so valid up to 1600 from Marylebone n after 1900

Are there any options via Paddington that are valid re this ticket please?

Thanks

Ok, so you actually have a Liverpool Stations to Dartford Off-Peak Return, priced at £89.50 and with restriction code 2C and route Any Permitted.

And you are planning to use the return portion of this to travel from Dartford to Liverpool this Tuesday.

This is restricted as follows (on a weekday):
Marylebone 16:01 to 18:59 inclusive
Paddington 16:41 to 18:30 inclusive
Euston 15:01 to 18:44 inclusive

You can travel back via Paddington / Reading / Oxford / Birmingham, it's fine.

The restrictions above are for trains that leave those terminal stations between those times, So you can't leave earlier, then join a train that you are restricted from joining later in its journey (e.g. at Reading, by having a break at Reading).

Mainline Silver trains (with Business Zone etc.) from Marylebone to Birmingham Moor Street (sometimes further) are at 10.40, 11.10, 13.10, 16.15, 17.15 and 18.15. Your ticket is not valid on the last three though.

The last hauled service out of MYB is the 1310.
The Paddington restriction is 1640-1831 (1710 Reading) and NRE allows the route. However, the strict reading of the restriction is that you cannot join the 1615 MYB or later hauled services (if that was your idea) anywhere en route. Whether that would be enforced at Banbury I do not know

Sorry, beaten to it. Alastairlees has said it all.

Ta.... any suggestions for a route via Paddington, leaving around 1300?
Cheers
You could maybe try the 1345 Paddington-Swansea or 1415 Paddington-Cardiff, as far as Reading.
These are supposed to be worked by the new class 800 bi-mode trains.
Then on to Birmingham on XC from Reading (every half hour).

I'm not sure if you mean leaving Paddington or Dartford at 13.00

If you can leave Paddington a bit earlier than 13.00, you can do the following:
12.22 Paddington to Oxford 13.16 (GWR HST)
13.39 Oxford to Banbury 13.56 (XC Voyager)
14.10 Banbury to Birmingham Moor St 14.59 (Chiltern Mainline Silver - the one that left Marylebone at 13.10)
15.36 Birmingham New Street to Liverpool Lime Street 17.10 (London Midland, a 350 I assume)
