Why are they so short of units in the west? 150001 and 002 have come west, as well as a few 166s for Severn Beach leading to an increase in units. I know a couple of 150s are away at a time for refurb, but what else is causing this? Genuinely curious.

It's also low adhesion time of year = wheel flats. If a unit activates a GOTCHA device, that's it, out of service and another one down :(

No idea other than the generic problems with this time of year. Today as an example - 17.36 from Bath turned up with 1 x 158/9, missing the 153 and delayed 20 mins late due to a passenger being taken ill. Some passengers unable to board so wait for the 18.07 which is running 15 mins late due to a broken down train and arrives with 150 + 153 (153 I assume having been pinched from the 17.36) as this is usually 2 x 150 so absolutely rammed again. This then also delayed the 18.23 and then the 18.36 later in its journey. The delayed 18.08 on the other platform was 1 x 150 as booked but was absolutely packed with people unable to board, despite the HST 10 minutes earlier that was also full.

I don't quite understand what's happening. Peak time has always been bad at Bath/Bristol but it seems to have gone crazy since this summer. The Turbos can't come soon enough!!

57212 and 57209 are being made into a two car for GWR, not Northern, hence why those two vehicles had WiFi installed a while back but the other 150/1 vehicles in their formations weren't

165113 has finally got its GWR branding stickers on, however 165112 and (I believe) 165114 are still in unbranded green.

I’m not, it’s my closest GWR line and a two car 165 is ridiculous. Thankfully the Gatwick services are 166s.

From memory, aren't the Shalford peak extras the only services booked as two car 165s? Apart from that, I've seen a two car 165 once in the last year, so you must be extremely unlucky or I must be very fortunate.

926 may be out as a 2-car, but having travelled on and then seen 925 again today, I can confirm that it's still a 3-car. It would be much less likely (although sadly not unheard of) for it to make its way to Portsmouth as a 2-car.
I can confirm 150925 is still a 3 car. Today I caught 1V50 0600 Edinburgh to Plymouth for which 1O98 Great Malvern to Brighton (150925) was regulated in platform 4 at BPW. So no doubt more fury/curiosity.

I think the regulation move caused more overall delay minutes than it saved, even though in this case it was in my favour, and looking at RTT, I now wonder whether it will make it to Brighton.

The Brighton services get hammered for punctuality at the best of times the closer they get to Brighton, so if it's late by Bristol that's not a good sign!

I continue to be happy with the turbos on the North Downs Line, thanks!
Nope, I am not happy with the 165/166s staying on the North Downs simply because they are too short for the passenger loads and get delayed whilst everyone tries getting on/off.

3 / 4 trains per hour may never happen so - Class 319/769 hybrids maybe?

I've seen quite a few 2 car units on the Redhill stoppers, and a few Gatwicks too.
I don't know if it was booked, but Reading do seem to throw a 2 car 165 on anything these days.

Given a 3 x 23m car 165/6 has over 250 seats, how would a 4 x 20m car 319/769 hybrid increase capacity?

This thread is about GWR livery.

If anyone wishes to post something on any other subject (or if you see that someone else has gone on topic and you wish to reply to them) please post a new thread. Thank you.

interior colours, but part of the GWR brand is new or updated trains on every part of the network, yet some Turbos now have the GWR livery but as mentioned earlier only 166205 out of the Turbo fleet has had the lot done (haven't been on this refurbished train yet).

A few Class 15x (not 153 trains have been done inside and out - the GWR interior looks far more futuristic (as in ) than the FGW one!

Does anyone have a picture of the GWR altered 143 and 153 interior please? The 153 especially. Thanks.
No change to 153, but I posted a photo on Wikipedia of the GWR interior.

Is that 143617, 143618 or 143619? As 1433617 and 143620 in the GWR livery were sent off to Bristol on Friday for some reason with 150129, could be for wheel repairs as they all sound bad at the moment.
I think 618. It was taken about two weeks ago though.

I was on 143618 2 days ago as it replaced 150101 due to it having broken down, I think it was some problem with the detector beneath the unit that interacts with the track and signalling as the signal at Topsham did not change green even though the Exmouth bound train had already passed. And I got an extremely similar photo to what you got with the new livery inside :)

All three 153 liveries worked together on the Devon Metro yesterday. I used them between Exeter and Barnstaple. Formed of 3 x 153 - GWR livery, Casper and old FGW blue livery!

143620 + 143617 went from Exeter TMD – St Phillips Marsh on Friday with 150129 and now 143603 + 143611 have gone from Exeter TMD – St Phillips Marsh today with 150127 and 150123. All these units seem to have flat wheels so I am guessing that they are all going to get wheel repairs but odd that now half of the pacer fleet are in Bristol and only half left here (143612, 143618, 143619 and 143621).

Already posted here as it is a non-livery matter:-
