How long should I leave for StP - Paddington

In reality it takes 11 minutes or so if you don't get stopped at edgeware road.

Allow plenty of time (you must allow the minimum connectional allowance for connections to be considered valid) but in reality it can be done quickly, especially westbound as you can get the first train that comes. If its a H&C you need to be at the rear (IIRC 2nd coach from rear, rear set of doors should be about right?) if it's Circle then nearer the middle.

If there is a train along side you at Edgware Rd and you are in a hurry it is worth trying to see if you can spot which one is being signalled out first, it can occasionally be quicker to change platforms.

Out of curiosity, what time should you leave (the minimal connection time) to cross between London stations? I'm sure I've seen it in the past, but failed to when I was having a look for the OP yesterday.

That's a fantastic resource for passengers transferring within the individual London stations. But for someone going from King's Cross-Victoria, Liverpool Street-Waterloo or Fenchurch Street-Paddington, is there an official minimum transfer time? I'd be surprised if there wasn't, given that it exists for cross-Glasgow transfers (30 minutes between the two).

Edgware Road is the problem in both directions, and has made me miss many trains (but never a plane, as I'll give myself extra time when going to Paddington).

It's a PITA because that 45 minutes would probably allow you to walk from King's Cross to Paddington comfortably (without luggage)!!

St Pancras International to Paddington- walked it in 35 minutes with no luggage, that was station exit to station entrance- I'd allow a bit extra for platform to platform.

Those are generous to say the least! Euston - Waterloo 53 minutes? You can do it in 15!

If the first train to appear at King's Cross is a Met, take it to Baker St, and sit in about the 3rd coach from the rear (I think that's right) and then head down the subway to the Bakerloo - it's not far at all and you won't get held up at Edgware Road!

It's much better going to Paddington than from Paddington, as going west you can take any train but going east you have to pick a line to start from, and if you go to the H&C platforms there are no screens saying when the next one is! Sometimes I've waited there for 12 mins and had I known that I'd have gone to the Circle & District platforms.

I think all of them are realistic time + 20 minutes + a percentage. maybe someone can figure out if there's an actual formula or if they just make the numbers up.

Correct, but at Paddington the H&C and Circle lines stop at different platforms.

if you have access to the internet on your phone, I highly recommend using the tfl mobile site as you draw in to Paddington to find the next train and which line it's on.
