Advance Single from Aberystwyth to Sheerness-on-Sea

I am trying to book an advance ticket for the above journey for the 0930 departure on Friday 15th August, but neither NRE, thetrainline or Virgin are coming up with any Advance fares, the cheapest NRE/thetrainline quote is £48.70, and Virgin don't offer anything!

I can buy Advance singles for the outward travel to Manchester on the 10th, and to Aber on the 14th, but why can't I book an advance fare for the return journey?

It is likely the fares haven't been put into the system yet, despite booking upto the 16th August. It might be worth waiting another week or so.

Despite this, looking at August 1st/8th there doesn't appear to be advance fares for the 0930 departure at all though, but only for the 0530, 1330, and 1730 departures.

Do you think I'd be able to purchase an Advance single nearer the time or will I have to pay nearly £50 to get home when I'm paying way under half that to get there?

I'd say leave it a week or so and see if advance fares come up for the 0530, 1330, and 1730 like they have for previous weeks. When they do, if there's still nothing showing for the 0930 then I doubt they will appear nearer the time.

If you can't change your plans to leave four hours later, then I'm afraid you will have to fork out.
