Any pictures of the progress at Lime Street since the closure?
Trains resume to Lime Street proper on the 9th so I doubt anyone non-NR or non-contractor has been in yet...

Thanks for thisHere is one taken on Saturday afternoon. To be honest they've made photography quite difficult with all the hoardings, and this is the only view I got - P7 being part demolished
I was asked earlier when boarding a VT if I was going to London-replying that I'd have to make to with Runcorn...Just passed through Parkway and though the staff were brilliant the signage was severely lacking... Northerns solo TVM is out of action, signs point to the MtoGo (Merseytravel own-brand shop). MtoGo don't do ticket collection. Seemingly the only place pre-booked ticket collection can happen is the 1 (I did see a second out of action) VTWC booth that says nothing about this- just "information". The merseytravel staff were to their credit handing out permits to travel to patch over the problem.
I also couldn't see any signs telling Virgin passengers to queue or go through a different barrier until I got to the overbrige. The only human error I experienced was the VTWC staff member at the top of the overbridge auto-directing people to the LM train for Runcorn/Stafford/Crewe without checking to see if they were booked on the VT service or not.
Just heard from a friend up that way that a 350 is indeed in the dirt at Allerton Jn. It'll be interesting to see how bad it is.London Midland empty stock shunt has derailed apparently - all services suspended.
The people of Warrington are about to see the traffic situation get a whole lot worse.
Best to route to Crewe via Chester I should think.
Depending on where it derailed some of the crossover moves might still be operable.
Yes that is what I understand too. Virgin trains are going to Warrington Bank Quay / Crewe. LMR as far as Crewe. Passengers advised to go to / from Crewe. I assume coaches laid on to take them there and back too. And latest reports for the rest of the day too.Now Correct me if I'm wrong but it's looking like East Midlands Trains are terminating/starting at Manchester Oxford Road today and Trans Pennine Express look as if their running through to Warrington Central. Northern are still running to/from Hunts Cross from what I can gather

That's a lot of work completed in less than 24 hours! Didn't it only close the night before you took the photo?
Does anyone know what is actually being done in the platform 1-6 area? I got a photo at lunchtime on the first day of the closure when a kind member of staff let me through the barrier as far as the concrete walls but of course not much had happened at that point.
Thanks for that. I'll be popping in after work tomorrow so I'll provide any updates I can. As an aside I live backing on to the railway at West Allerton and the biomass and coal trains have been passing ours along with a lot of the traffic involved in the construction work. It has actually been quite busy 24/7!When the station partially reopens tomorrow, I suspect nothing much will have changed for platforms 1-3 as these are the only ones in use.
When this blockade ends I think we will see partial changes to P4-6, notably shortening, to allow throat reconstruction work to continue over the winter.
And then the next blockade will be for reconstruction of P1-6.
Just a guess, maybe quite wrong.
I'll be interested to see if both Slow lines are in use tomorrow, or just the Up line (nearest the wall), and how much track remodelling has taken place.
Unfortunately I won't be able to see it for myself for a week or so.

I’m sorry, I just realised I should’ve posted this in the Liv-Man Electrification thread. My apologies.Well, the wiring over the 4th track went live 90 mins ago...anyone noticed any test trains scheduled?
I'd expect the Ormskirk to Preston route to play a greater role during future blockades, once it goes hourly and has a 7-day service.Regarding the Ormskirk/Kirkby trains, I was talking to an OPSTA (Ormskirk to Preston and Southport Travellers Association, the very long running community rail body for the line) person on the line today and he said they were very much an afterthought rather than being deliberately unpublicised.
Loadings were excellent, but only one from Croston this time, it seemed most had been sent that way because of the journey planner.
