I want to do a 7 Day ALR but don't know where to start, Local Station is Whitton/Twickenham and I have some ideas on what i want to see, Including taking a ride on the Aberdeen to Penzance before it's gone.

Welcome to the forum :)

Have you read any of the ALR reports on this forum? These will likely include ideas that may interest you.

Here are a few ideas for starters...

Perhaps the Class 68 services on the Fife Circle and on the Marylebone-Birmimgham/Kidderminster route may be of interest.

The Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways are well worth a visit.

The train known by many names including "Gerald of Wales", the "Premier Service" and nicknamed the "WAG Express" is well worth a trip; if you have a Standard ALR, the 1st class supplement is strongly recommended.

Yes, Been reading them for quite some time, They put ideas in my head, I do have a current plan but don't really want to do much around london cause i can do them some other time for cheaper. I also don't want hotels due to my ability to use different intercity services out of london each time. I was thinking some Scotland exploration, Hull, Manchester, Bradford, Liverpool etc, I want to travel on EMT HSTs, TPE 185s and some pacers, Which will be a nice change from the electrics down here.
I sorta put a plan together but I'm not sure about it.

Skye circular and a ride on the sleeper (before the berth fees go sky high when the new trains come in)

Is that actually a railway line? Since That's what I plan to do most.
He is proposing you take a train from Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh, then visit the Isle of Skye (ie. by bus & boat) and return via Mallaig and Fort William.

This can be done in a day during Summer if you take the Sleeper into Inverness and out of Fort William. Another option is to take the Highland Chieftain and spend the night in accommodation (anywhere as far north as Dingwall would be fine, but inverness itself would be a good call).

I would thoroughly recommend a visit to the Isle of Skye, even if you simply pass through it by bus and get the first available ferry to Mallaig, as the scenery is stunning and it's a great round trip (and avoids the need to double-back).

good luck with your ALR ,but i don't think i could do a penzance to aberdeen run on a voayger ( i'd have to do it via london on HSTs ;) ) living in the london area you might have a few problems with the not valid before 10am rule :)

What is your main interest? Clocking up miles, spotting/bagging units/locos, taking photos? More interested in freight or passenger workings? Each needs quite a different plan.

I did my ALRs mostly to photograph trains and I found by my third trip that carefully planned advance tickets with some rangers/rovers gave flexibility at a much lower price than the ALR itself.

If you have some set plans in mind, might be worth looking into a combination of local tickets to see if it works out cheaper. You get the plus of seat reservations on the longer stuff and can be flexible with start times and even take a day off. There are some good Scottish rovers for example, see http://railrover.org/ for more.

Glad to see you want to come and visit us up in Yorkshire. Leeds, Manchester and Sheffield are the hubs for Pacer and TPE 185 action. The Sheffield to Manchester Hope Valley line is by far the most scenic in that area, the Settle and Carlisle is gorgeous too but does take a good few hours to traverse. If you like good scenery, running Leeds to Carlisle and down to Barrow (possibly by 37 LHCS if you time it right) is a full but beautiful day out. If you want a long run on a Pacer at full pelt, the Leeds to Morecambe line is fun, although 150s do also operate these workings.
