Hi all. Just wondered if someone could answer a question for me. Had my medical and drug test with gwr last friday and was wondering how long it normally takes to get the all clear.

Had to put a few things down on medical questionaire so not sure if i wll pass or not. Getting dangerously close to missing the deadline for handing in notice to current enployer and want to make sure all boxes are ticked before resigning.

Hi, I had mine last Thursday normally takes a week to get the drug/alcohol
results back.
Speaking to the doctor after you had your ecg, eye, hearing, colourblindness test did he not say he was happy with everything?

If you put something on the questionnaire and it wasn't touched on during the actual medical then it wasn't of note or worth further investigation.

From experience I put a rare childhood disease I had on mine, the nurse and doctor doing the medical had never even heard of it so had a quick check, were happy and carried on.

Thanks for the replies. The doc didn't mention anything so looks like i just have to be more patient.

If you have had a safety-critical medical, if you had not passed fit they would have told you there and then. If they have said nothing, in theory all they are waiting for is confirmation that your pee in a cup is all clear. This usually takes around a week, can take two depending on how busy the lab is.

Thanks

Why does it take a week when you can get tests that do it in 5 to 10 minutes like this one
