Just to make any applicants aware got to live within 45 minutes of the Depot sadly rules me out but good luck to those that apply.

Applied for this. Out of curioisity can anyone inform me what the shifts are like at this depot? Earliest starts and latest finishes? And what an average shift involves from this depot?

Cheers!

Earliest start - 04:01
Latest finish - 01:36

Expect a lot visits to Lime Street. Southport/Kirkby-Man Vic/Man Airport via Bolton/Atherton the main core work.

First half of docket could be 2 trips to Lime St and back, PNB, then a trip to Manchester Vic and back.

That 04:01 shift is a taxi to Preston to bring a 319 down to Wigan, then 2 round trips to Lime Street, done for 10:50.

Also there's work to Barrow/Morecambe.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.
Thanks for the post Baz, I've applied for this role but I may be too far away.
Best of luck to all that applied!

Traincrew get paid overtime if they go over their booked finishing time. E.G shift 10:00-18:00 due to Line blocked don't finish till 19:00 they would be paid an hours over time at flat rate.
I don't think age matters, on my course there was a mixture of ages, youngest was early twenties. Oldest was late 40's.

That depends on your contract - some places still have "free time" for disruption

Going back to the 45 minute travelling distance, I use Google maps to determine travelling time, depending on time of day it could be 41 mins or 53 mins. Would I qualify? I hope so

I'd imagine it's measured in a 'no traffic delays' situation, especially as most shifts start at times which largely avoid rush hour.

Probably an impossible question to answer but is this likely to be just hiring for one trainee or more?

It's always worth applying, even if you don't get one of the two positions advertised you may be placed in talent pool and called up in 6 months, even getting interview experience and having a go at psychometrics may be beneficial if your interested in becoming a driver long term.
