Not Valid Via Birmingham

Hi all,

Having missed an hourly service from Coventry to Nuneaton (not wanting to wait another hour) I was wondering if my ticket would allow my journey via Rugby? I asked the ticket office and they said it wasn't valid, but I'd have thought it'd say not valid via Birmingham and/or Rugby? Is this ticket definitely not valid via Rugby? I bought an off peak day return so I'd appreciate help.

There is an easement against it. Hopefully a kind soul below will find it for you. If not I will try to look it up later. You could excess to an Any Permitted ticket in one direction, although that would be £4.55 which is very expensive given your original ticket was only £5.40.

You'll actually need to tell us the origin and destination on the ticket.

It was a Nuneaton to Coventry off peak day return

Negative Easement 700083 - "Customers travelling from Nuneaton to Coventry in possession of tickets routed 'Not Birmingham' may not travel via Rugby. This easement applies in both directions."

I did once have a season ticket marked "Leighton Buzzard to South Acton via London, not Doncaster". Even the ticket office person couldn't understand why this came up on the machine (must have been APTIS at the time, nearly 30 years ago)
