Just out of curiosity, does anyone know or hazard a guess as to how many people progress through to the assessment centre? I think 12,000 people applied roughly as per a post earlier so presumably several thousand would have been rejected without progressing through to the assessment centre.

I think there is still hope for more responses after the conclusion of these current invites. Two of my mates with holding responses did not receive an assessment invite nor a rejection email. So there is still some hope. Only not knowing how soon.

I doubt anyone would know as when I did the online test at the application stage I got a message I didn't meet the criteria but have since been invited to attend A.C.1 so would imagine they are going through those applications that didn't meet the originally planned standard required.

Yes! 7000 applied last year and according to someone's post, about 12000 applied this year. Part of the reason is because there has been more publicity about the job!

No, it doesn't. LUL tests are different and separate from mainline and cannot be transferred.

Likewise, if you pass out as a train operator with LUL you cannot transfer to a TOC as a qualified driver; you must enter as a trainee and (re-)sit all the relevant tests.

I think it's a bridge too far. At the very best they could agree some sort of "queue jump" for LO & Crossrail vacancies in my opinion.

Oh I agree, if it happens then I'll be very surprised. There's no way a TOC would take a driver who hasn't done all the psychometric testing that's required these days.

To be honest though, you would have a massive advantage if you were a tube operator and applying for a trainee mainline driver. If you can pass all the assessments, I see no reason why you couldn't pass the DMI or MMI.

Has anyone who is waiting for a medical / training start date been given an indication of when the next set of course dates will be released (expecting that the training itself will be in the new year)?

I wish that there was some sort of regular update to all those waiting in some way - it's the not knowing that is hardest to handle (in the same way that I'm sure that keeping customers informed is encouraged, shouldn't the same be done for potential employees!)
