Mystery building ruin on Mottram marshalling yard

We walk our dog around here most days and I've discovered a mystery building which doesn't appear on any photos I can find.

On this photo the ruin would be about 30 feet beyond the last of the ruined bases of the small buildings on the photo but it's not there that I can see. It's separate to the row of buildings and it would be roughly where the big bush is if you follow the line of the small buildings upwards on the photo.

On this other photo it would be roughly in front of the truck on the line:

Can anyone who knew the yards throw any light on this mysterious ruin which doesn't appear on any photo I can find but which I walk past every day I walk the dog.

Yeah, that's the point, in the marshalling yards today there is a ruin of a building which isn't shown on any of the photos I've linked and I wondered if anyone knew anything about it.

I'll see if I can take a photo of it tomorrow and also some of the ruins of the buildings which are shown so you can see they're not the same buildings.

I can see I've not made my original post clear enough, sorry about that. I'll amend it so it clearly says what I mean.

It could be, it's in about the right position. I took these photos today. The first (with no children or dog in it) is the ruins of the small series of huts. The second with children and dog is the separate building.

I just don't understand why the ruins don't appear in any photo from the 70s or 80s. Maybe it was already overgrown.

Having just looked at your pictures I have to admit now that it looks doubtful (at least to me) if that is the remains of the smaller building in the 1935 shot, for example with your children used to judge the scale the ruins just don't appear wide enough, also the the top of the brickwork seems to be capped with concrete suggesting it could have some sort of open topped storage bunker type thing of which on closer scrutiny of the 1935 shot there seems to be something similar visible between the longer building and smaller hut further along.

Ahh yeah, it could be. I had another look today and it's very deep but there's a metal grid about a foot from the top to stop people from falling in. I still can't work out why it doesn't show on the more recent photos but I suppose it might be buried in the bushes.

Fuel tank base for an emergency generator? Compressor plant base for working points? The air for signalling/points was supplied from Dog Lane in Dukinfield but only reached Newton.There would be a need for a local supply at Mottram. Also, the electricity supply at Mottram for yard lights etc I doubt would come from the National Grid in 1935.
How about a fuelling station for 08 diesel shunters in 50s and 60s?
