London Euston is currently closed due to an on going security alert

Armed police*descended on*Euston Station after it was evacuated due to a bomb scare - which turned out to be an*e-cigarette explosion.

The busy north London station was placed on lockdown at around 7.45pm on Tuesday evening, with dozens of police officers seen rushing to the scene.

Huge crowds of people were*led out of both the underground and mainline station following*a "security alert".

Police later said there had been a small explosion at the station, believed to have been caused by an e-cigarette in a bag. There were no reported injuries.

Reported to be smoke/fumes coming from an unattended piece of luggage outside the travel centre. Also reported that passengers have self evacuated onto the track in the platform area...

Has the power been switched off to the signalling? From about Harlesden Junction into Euston Open Train Times isn't showing any signals

But probably safer than staying in the confines of the station under the circumstances, obviously people heard some sort of explosion and feared the worst.

Thats dangerous.

I notice there is information for VT passengers in terms of ticket acceptance but nothing for LM passengers in place.

So the rumours were true what people were telling me outside the station. Walked by about 30 mons ago on way to Kings X. Never seen so many police cars etc. Bet there was 50 at least and lots of armed officers and bomb squad. No veichle traffic between British Library pretty much up to Great Portland Street on Euston Road and all streets behind the station closed off. Got to say it was a very calm environment despite what was going on.

I didn't realise it was possible to terminate 11-car Pendolinos at Harrow & Wealdstone, but apparently so.

I don't wish to make light of tonight's situation, or to mock in any way, but the answer to your question is 'at least 103 years'. See below:

Had anyone asked me when I thought the Euston DC lines had been established then I would've said the 1930s at the very earliest. So there we are, we've all been educated as a result of a very regrettable incident.
