Strictly Exeter has two, because there is also a 1710 St James' Park-Exeter St Davids on Saturdays, in addition to the St Davids-Central workings.

Alloa is not Stirling and Stirling is not Alloa, they are entirely separate towns. That's like suggesting the Aberdeen - Dyce or Glasgow Central - Paisley Canal services.

Brighton does not include Hove and Hove is not a part of Brighton. That's it's called Brighton and Hove.

Like it or not, it's one city so services between the two towns are within that city. They don't meet the criteria of the thread ie they are not internal services in small towns but that is another argument.

Not only that, with the two being separated by considerable open country, I believe it's even in a different county. Yeovil (and Pen Mill) is in Somerset whereas the Junction is just in Dorset, the boundary following the northern fence line of the railway.

Or even different country. Knighton station is in England and the town in Wales

Is there still an occasional Exeter St Davids to Exeter Central service, I know there was a daily one a few years ago?

I was down there last week and saw what seemed to be a fair selection of them. I am trying to recall if any do both ways as a shuttle or not

Does Yeovill have a service just connecting Pen Mill and Junction?

Yes - I was on board one last week which came from Reading to Yeovil Pen Mill via Sherbourne and Junction, then formed a shuttle back to Junction and then formed another new service back towards Salisbury via Pen Mill once again!

Not wishing to get into exchanges about admin boundaries and separate settlements not forming part of urban areas etc, you could also include Shenstone as it falls within the Lichfield District Council area

Your example is irrelevant because the services that link City and Trent Valley do not both start and end at those stations. Instead, services to TV will have started at Longbridge or Redditch.

Recent Wikipedia-tunneling led me to the page on the Ryde Pier Head station, and I noted that there is a daily night service (23:20) that terminates at Ryde St John's Road.

Ryde has a population of 23,999, so I suspect but don't know that it might be the smallest town in the UK to have a train service entirely within its borders? Stourbridge obviously comes to mind with its unusual service, and has 63,298 people.
