I heard somewhere that there may be a banana shortage soon due to a disease.

It wouldn't be the first time. Bananas went extinct in the 1950s.

They've been pretty much unobtainable since the 1960s. We've been eating a closely related fruit since then. That's why bananas don't taste like banana flavour.

Technically not only is the banana not a banana but its also not a fruit but a herb.

That's essentially what happened, except they forgot to tell the people who make food flavours. Which is why 'banana' flavoured foods don't taste like 'bananas' that you get from the supermarket. It is possible to get the Gros Michel cultivar (the original variety), but they are a niche item.

I misread that as "immoral" and was going to say "Tell me more" however as for "immortal" I thought I'd covered that in #4.

You did cover it but now we're going to cover it up. The ones in my kitchen are I believe immoral and immortal. I'm only one of those things though.
