Trivia: Largest town without an escalator?

If a shoppingcentre has at least 2 levels than i can not imagine that is has no escalators.

I don't think Cwmbran shopping centre has any escalators. The shops are mostly on one level with car parking below and some shops at a higher level.

I can not imagine that somewhere is a second level you need to use stairs to go up and down.

There are plenty of shops that are on two levels but only have an escalator in one direction so you have to use stairs in the other direction e.g. Debenham's in Truro (actually on three levels with just an up escalator from ground to first, and only steps to the café on the second.) I'm pretty sure there are some older, uncovered shopping centres lacking escalators too, or there certainly used to be.

There are also some shops with multiple levels which have no escalators e.g. H&M in the Arndale Centre, Manchester has stairs but no escalators but presumably has a lift somewhere.

I think escalators in outdoor shopping centres are rare in this country. Liverpool One has them but it's certainly not commonplace.
