Spa Express/Colwyn Bay to where Sat

Good Morning.

I realise there was at trip to Bleanau yesterday, spoke to a Chap on Penmaenmawr station around 3.30p.m. he was from Walsall waiting
for the Vans to go through to Holyhead.

Anyway I saw two 47s pulling a carriage(one marked Scarboro Spa Express)
pass through Colwyn Bay at 2.00p.m. going fast on the Up line towards
Rhyl/Chester area, I wonder why, for refuel I wonder?

They were heading westbound, as they were not needed for the Blaenau-Crewe leg of the tour. The Kettles took the charter as far as Crewe on the return, I know that. The 47's were supposed to work from Llandudno Junction, but they decided to run the Kettles instead.

And the chap at Penmaenmawr was too late! The Vans went thru nearly 3 hours early yesturday!!

1.Poor chap at Pen, had his movie ready as well, dont know how long he stayed.

2.You say heading Westbound? thought the up line was east anyhow thanks for the info,must say Pen station looks in fine fettle after a make over, pity it is only a request stop,
The train indicators appear brand new and seem radio(RF) controled, the down side is OK next
train etc The Up side one says phone Nat Rail for train info, anyhow both give the real
time, In Wrexham you have to ask in the cafe for the time.
