Through the persons behavour, some people can see how some people act as one of my other neigbours noticed how strange this person was acting - they left the house quite regulary but not to a working day pattern, they errected a patio and oddly enough reported my neighbour about their so called garage - its a shed. We all worked out what they were doing as time went on.

What were they doing? What's wrong with leaving the house regularly but not to whatever a "working day pattern is?". They erected a patio?

Without knowing what this person had the pass for it's difficult to comment on whether that's relevant.

He reported his neighbour's garage - ok, perhaps he was wrong, perhaps he was unpleasant, but that has nothing to do with the claims you're making.

My next door neighbour came up with a completely wrong conclusion from my slightly random comings and goings - he thought I worked nights. I don't, I'm just often out until late.

The biggest problem I find here in Portsmouth is cars parking on bus stops and double yellow lines. Unfortunately this has become the attitude of some selfish car and van drivers to park where they see any space. This causes delays because the bus can't park parallel to the stop and is sticking its rear out into the road, causing delays to other traffic, including other buses. In turn causing longer journey times and unreliability, meaning more buses and drivers need to be put into a service to keep reliability. Costing more. Passengers drift away due to unreliability, longer journey times and fare increases. Start enforcing road regulations so all the traffic can keep moving and I'm sure you will see an improvement. Just a shame we have a car loving council in Portsmouth afraid of losing votes to the car lobby.

First things first.

I knew of someone who is autistic, which is a learning disability. I know three others of which two who have aspergers and one has a mild form of ADHD, so its pointless saying that I don't know anything about disabilities when I know a few who are disabled.

I know of two people who have to use the most powerful inahailer because they have servere asamha. You do get people who have genuine injuries which renders them unable to work but as I've mentioned before you always get some who will try and cheat the system.

Concessionary travel schemes? - if its in England then I'll know however the Scottish and Welsh equivelent is different so if I mention something to do with it then I'm refering to the English system.

You'll be suprised at what I do know.

See, this is what I don't understand with your posts. One the one hand you say you have friends who live with some of these hidden disabilities, yet you post things which seem like they've been lifted from a Richard Littlejohn column (or a ghostwritten Jeremy Clarkson one). Using that term so loved by the alt-right (snowflake) is playing into the hands of those who would love to keep the "underclasses" in their place by encouraging us to "blame downwards"- it's not the bankers and corporations to blame, it's the immigrants/disabled/ unemployed/elderly... and by the way, approximately 0.1% of welfare payments are claimed fraudulently.

Classic divide and conquer tactics and you've fallen for it hook, line and sinker.

spot on ... hence my previous Statements that particular poster does not actually appear to have a clue on such a topic

Last post from me in this thread as its gone way to far off topic, for those who don't realise is that I am Tory-UKIP, my mates are as well. We all have different opinions, I've given mine from the angle that I see it.

Just to clarify…

The targets that my posts on this thread were and are aimed at are those who are playing the system, such as those who are workshy i.e. those who live on benefits in social housing who simply refuse to work[1] and the angry unionised university students who both use socialism to get things for free (hence why I've used the term snowflake) to reference them.

The genuinely disabled are having to suffer cutbacks, and in the long term are having to suffer even more through others thoughtless behaviour. I recall travelling on the X84 to Otley once and a group of four uni students started to take the p*** out of someone with a learning disability who was sat up front, only because of the way the person was speaking (I didn‘t say anything, but just witnessed in horror what some of our “so called brightest” do to those who are disabled).

These university students, who are probably studying a mickey mouse course at one of the three low level brainwashing institutions in Leeds have made them a nervous wreck and therefore because they're a nervous wreck they've decided to not only mock those who are disabled but also are likely play the system themselves as they‘re feelings have been hurt and want free stuff, what’s to tempt them to try and claim for a ENCT pass too even though the average university student won‘t be disabled but will claim to be in order to get free stuff? This is what I’m trying to get at.

The same goes for those who are workshy, who live on benefits in social housing at the cost of the taxpayer, why should I have to fund the bone idle who refuse to work but they will be able to lay a patio, re-roof their house and in general move about but choose not to work simply because of the sight of so called free money.

[1] I am NOT referencing those who live in social housing who DO work - there’s a big difference.

You are so out of touch with the real world. It's a good job that will be your last post tbh.

There are plenty of Uni students who do suffer with disabilities. You can only get an ENCTS pass if you have a diagnosed health problem.

I forgot though, all Uni students are the same, those 4 students represent the entire student population.

You probably need to lie down in a darkened room. When you feel better you could always read up a bit so that you are better informed for the future.

These are the students paying £9000 a year to do courses I got for free?

That was out of order. No question.

These university students, who are probably studying a mickey mouse course at one of the three low level brainwashing institutions in Leeds

This is the sort of thing we're commenting on. You start off quite reasonably and then make huge jumps.

If they're doing a "Mickey Mouse course" then they're paying an awful lot for the privilege of doing it.

Leeds University is generally regarded as one of the top Universities in the country. I'm not sure what you're suggesting with the "brainwashing" comment.

You really think the average student would do that? Based on what? Huge assumptions?

Have you seen how easy it is to have your benefits suspended? If you know of someone genuinely abusing the system, report them.

Resists, but fails in doing so to consider a comment about how it's a shame it's not your last post on the site , as your 'explanation' and 'justification' are nothing of the sort and just reinforce your bigotry.

Anyway, any chance of overthewater (the OP) returning to tell us why and how he/she thinks the system could be improved?

(This thread was - originally - about his/her loss of faith in the current set-up, rather than students in social housing building patios out of ENCTS passes ... or something like that.)

:D

So what caused the thread? Was it the belief it was the passes? Alas alot of silly people got that wrong and then tried to twist it. tut tut.

It was the fact a local bus company was operating buses to a BIG employment area 15mins AFTER people started their work, along with other things. It's finally getting sorted, but it doesn't say much for the old management, who come in like a flash and have mostly gone like a flash.

How on earth did it take so long for anyone to notice?

I have lost my faith in the current system, I can;t see how I can get it back.

I've heard how bad the old national way of doing things, but what I've seen of late is beyond idiotic and it's clearly incompetent.

Has anyone else lost faith or did it come back or what?

I'm really starting to think we need to PTE contract system.

In fact, where did you even say about this perceived issue on your initial post? Why else talk about PTE contracts?

Sounds like a dog whistle....

I don't you can tut tut if you make something industry wide. Anyhow, they have now sorted it so shows they've responded.

That because it's new people in control, but it getting sorted were not at the all sorted stage yet :| but were getting there and thats what counts.

I used to have that in Slough from First. The first bus to the station arrived 15 minutes after my usual train to London; the last one back 15 minutes before I arrived back.

They decided to double the frequency of the route but didn't extend its hours. I used it occasionally on a Saturday. The route no longer exists.
