IJ09- 0910 Birmingham International (BHI) to Holyhead ( HHD) will become 1J09 0910 BHI to Aberystwyth (AYW) instead.

Front 4 carriages will detach at Shrewsbury (SHR) on arrival at 1021 to form 1G31 1032 SHR to BHI. Rear 2 will continue to AYW @ 1027. Platform 4B.

1S20 0830 AYW to SHR terminates Platform 3 (1017) then forms new 1D42 1027 SHR to HHD.

There diverting a through Birmingham to Holyhead train to Aberystwyth. It use to connect with an Aberystwyth train that ran from Shrewsbury the unit from this (which terminated originating Aberystwyth) will now form a Shrewsbury to Holyhead train in the path of the through train from Birmingham.

I suspect there could be high advance booking for Aberystwyth and there doing this for customer convenience instead of making them change at Shrewsbury. Ive just tried booking an AP next Friday on the 0910 and there sold out.

Says something about demand for through trains to North Wales Coast from West Midlands via Shrewsbury.

I have edited the post so that it now complies with our requirements for the station name to be referred to at least once (we do allow the use of CRS codes to be used thereafter) so hopefully it makes sense now

I'm assuming there's been a high number of bookings to go through to the Cambrian on the 0910 and the numbers going beyond Shrewsbury toward Holyhead are low.

North West go Prestatyn/Rhyl/Llandudno way

ATW also running a bucket and spade relief on the coast on Saturdays, using the Manchester MK3 set.

Advances or no, it might relieve the preceding Cambrian train which can get very busy IME, unlike the SHR-AYW.

Could well be no group booking though for next week on anything to Aber. The first time they came they just rocked up at Euston and bought off peak returns in their hundreds......10 years too late for the Cambrian holiday trains from Euston.
