Hi,
What's the future for the 5 class 442s not in service with/being refurbished for Gatwick Express/Southern?
Four of them are still in store at Eastleigh, including I think the example with the odd air-con system. There also appears to be (according to thejunction.org.uk) one parked up at Ashford. Anyone know why it's there? If they were destined to be parts donors I'd have expected them to be stored in Brighton?
I think they're too good to scrap, but who would want a fleet of only 5 units? I think really the whole lot should have gone to Southern to release more 377s for strengthening other services.
