Putting make-up on whilst on the train

I've seen people clipping their nails on the train, brushing their hair on the train.

Is it okay to apply make-up on the train, whilst on the move. Or is it frowned upon?!

Spaying any form of aerosol is a big no no for me.

Hear, hear. Looks horrible, blood all over the place, aerosol screaming unless anaesthetised..

I don't think applying nail varnish or eye liner is socially acceptable on a train, simply because it has a strong chemical smell when first applied.

I hope it wasn't toe nails you should someone clipping!

On trains it appears you can't smoke, drink, eat hot foods, eat cold foods, brush your hair, use aerosols, e-fags, listen to loud music through your earphones and probably farting's out too.

One of my cousins lives in Hathersage and on her commute into Sheffield thinks Totley tunnel is great for helping her apply make up what with the reflection and all that.

Not only that but my cousin finds the big windows very helpful for applying said make up and also likes the low seats as she can turn round and gossip to her friends!

Supremely annoying when I was a commuter .....very tempted to use an electric shaver on board a 319 - then spray aftershave.

If I could find the 5 or so mins to shave properly - then they could.

I apply full corpsepaint on my way to black metal gigs on the train. It means I normally get 4 seats around a table to myself for the entire journey. (Google Scandanavian Black Metal Images for an idea, ha ha, and no, I don't really do it, I like some of the bands though).

I don't like it when people apply nail polish and use aerosols, I have seen people too clipping their nails, shaving, eating crunchy toast, picking their nose and flicking it, blowing their nose and closely studying the contents in their handkerchiefs, brushing their teeth and probably worst of all, I have seen people flossing their teeth, once on a suburban train and once on the central line and a woman changing her baby's nappy on a table in first class on the East Coast, when food was being served, yuk.

Not as bad as putting it on while driving on the M25 in the rush hour.

The driver using the vanity mirror was bad enough but I have even seen one using the rear view mirror.

Having to put up with people's habits; especially vomiting and urinating (possibly defecating) on Friday and Saturday nights, is what puts me off ever wanting to work in a public facing role (e.g. Dispatcher) in the rail industry

Shifts would be hard - but the public put me off more so!

(I saw that the other day and assumed it wasn't new as I don't use Virgin EC trains that often so didn't take a photo).

I dont have a problem with it at all, although if about to freshon up the old armpits will always ensure I have apare of airlines to myself if the toilet isnt near or available.
