Must be the 1704 ex-Brighton then, and by my calculations 5 minutes late.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
JKA has just published gen for a trio of 377 drags (including that of 106) happening over the next couple of days:

Friday 3-4-09
5X77 09+44 Selhurst depot to Derby Litchurch Lane
Unit 7106

5X78 19+46 Derby Litchurch Lane - Selhurst depot
New 377/5

Saturday 4-4-09
5X15 14+00 Derby Litchurch Lane - Selhurst depot
New 377/5

Understand 7106 is going back for some welding checks

I travelled on the new 377 last night. I don't understand - the exterior is painted in FCC colours, but the interior is the same as the Southern 377's. Also the unit is a mix of 2+3 and 2+2 - why is this?!

377/5s are really NSR units initially on a sub-lease to FCC plus further sub-hire to SER when required until late 2013, after that they'll stay within the ex-Central division. Therefore the interior was specified by NSR to mimic that of their 377/4s (hence the layout mix which 377/2s and some 377/1s also have) but FCC are permitted to have the exterior painted in their colours.

What does NSR stand for?

From what Im told the fault with the 377/5 has been found in other 377s so maybe a few more will be going back up soon.

5X78 didn't run today! but according to JA it could run tommorow ex Derby 0700 alongside with 5X15

5X78 has been recoded to 5X77 and 377502 is making its way to Selhurst, so another Purple Electrostar for Thameslink commuters

502 is now in Selhurst, however the fourth unit is staying put for now as 5X15 has been caped.

Turning to infrastructure, the pavement and adjacent subway entrances outside Blackfriars are now closed so non-ticket holders from the west and (especially the) south will be taking a relatively long detour.

I guess that 4th unit would had been 7507

Thanks for the update on Blackfriars

I reckon the day will come and it'll still be on test* - the current issue of Rail has been on sale since March 25 (next issue on sale tomorrow I believe) and they must have gone to press a few days before then. Don't forget 502 was delivered to Selhurst 3 and a half days after its first booked delivery, and it took longer than 10 days to get 501/504 into service (even excluding their trips to Derby).

I'd love to be proved wrong though, those 377/2s will soon be rapidly withdrawn from the TL fleet.

[* That also means it has already begun its acceptance trials. :) ]

This is from the new issue, I managed to grab a copy at City Thameslink as it was being put out. I keep forgetting that its April all ready!

Well since when has a 377/5 kept its dates? Least they are expecting things to develop in a positive way tho.

502 has been out on the DC lines and it booked for an AC run tonight.

Well there's a surprise, considering it's dated April 8-21 by my calculations.

In that case, they're expecting progress to be even quicker than I originally thought they did.

Just had a look on the cover and yes that's what its dated. Thought it was werid, maybe cause its a bank hloiday its out early?

Fact its booked to do AC tonight is rather quick. Maybe the 5,000 miles was for the first or Bombarbier have been doing alot of testing with NSR staff up at Derby?

Not sure if the 5,000 figure even came into it in the first place, but I must admit a planned AC run after just 3 and a half days is quick.

Another drag is all set for Thursday, but it's not known if the unit is 106 or another 377/5...

[Update 1: 508 now on the test track apparently.]
[Update 2: Tonight's unit will be 106.]

The next 377/5 is due to be deliveried to FCC at Bedford on the 14th April according to rail. Assume this is 377502.

Am chasing the status of 377507/4th unit.
I know this is late but on the 6th April 5707 was spotted at Selhurst

I second that. By the way there's another 5X77 to Selhurst booked for tonight (another /5), one day behind a 5X77 to Willesden (LOROL finally have another 378 to play with!)

Only this and this from Locoscene.

Still waiting for a 377/5 to actually meet its first specified delivery date (and the fourth has missed two so far). Also, 502's trips to Milton Keynes on both Tuesday and Thursday last week were cancelled, and one of the 377/2s finishes with FCC at the end of this week.

On the infrastructure side, I noticed a new piece of OHLE in Farringdon on Good Friday (pic attached) - what is it?

What is the purpose of the spacer carriages used here? I assume it is more than just to convert between coupling standards, as they are on both ends. Would they have been used if it had been hauled by another unit of the same class instead of a loco? (or does that never happen?)

The barrier/translator wagons may be used on both ends in case there's a need for a run around enroute.

and one of the 377/2s finishes with FCC at the end of this week.

What will that cause to happen? A 350/1 to return to LM, a 465 to return to SE or just bolster Southern's fleet until they have a decent number of spares again?

The deal for the 'painted number' unit is as follows

8 377/2 until 25th April
7 377/2 until 2nd May
6 377/2 until 16th May
3 377/2 until 13th June

Once the 4th unit is deliveried, every additional 377/5 FCC get means one 377/2 is returned to Southern.

So one of the borrowed is due back to Southern unless FCC and Southern agree to lend the units out for longer.

I think Pumbaa was actually asking whether or not the first repatriated 377/2 would trigger the repatriation of a 350/375/465, but oh well...

I understand that the fourth 377/5 is now en-route to Selhurst, and it's 507 (not 511 as I thought earlier ). So that means at least 2 complete 377/5s are currently held at Litchurch Lane, they being 505/508.

No, the 377/2 should be returned first then the Networkers.

Seems 502 is being deliveried friday as one of the 377/2 is returned.

The new Southeastern Sevenoaks timetable (17th May until 12 Dec 09) HAS been printed showing on

0519, 0538, 0619 arrivals at City and terminate and
1733, 1821, 2039 starts from City

The timetable will be out shortly although the FCC timetable is yet to go to print. Note this is changed from last night as I dug abit futher once I'd had some sleep and got the additional times.

The internet version also has City starters at 0526/0607/0638 plus a terminator arriving 0844 (the 0752 ex-Sevenoaks continues beyond City). WebTIS on the other hand includes the first three starters/terminators like the SER timetable but also claims both the 0844 and 0900 are terminators and that the 1733/1821/2039 arrivals start north of City. Not confusing huh? :?

WebTIS also claims that the 1816 'crowd-buster' from Farringdon becomes the 1705 ex-Sevenoaks with the following service (1824 call at StP) no longer starting at Sevenoaks and doing so at 1810 in Elephant & Castle instead (without a Farringdon call!). That's another 319 diagram or two since the 317s are needed on the GN route, we only have 2 units spare as it is (is 377502 definitely on course for service starting this Friday?).
