M6 bus deliveries 22/06/17

Several new buses heading south down the M6 near Lancaster in the rain yesterday ~8 AM
One Borisbus fresh off the Heysham ferry
Two yellow-painted deckers for Oxford, with vinyls for what looked like a "3" service. I couldn't work out if these were Wrights or Alexanders - in the rain it was hard to see.
And the strangest one of the lot: a plain red-liveried Alexander tri-axle double decker, left hand drive, two sets of doors, front and middle. No branding or decals on it at all. Any ideas where it was heading?

These are Wright.

Yes, the model and paint colour match. Presumably the vinyls will be applied locally

That's the closest theory I came up with. If it was yellow then id say Swiss.

But the Swiss buses have three sets of doors. I'd definitely say that it was for the Metrobus fleet (not Orpington, but Mexico)

the yellow ones were definitely vinyled for Oxford, no question about that.
The only "mystery" was the red one, and Mexico seems to fit the bill quite well.

Curiously a couple of weeks back there was another new Alexander tri-axle double decker leaving Morecambe on the Bay Gateway, in what looked like Hong Kong two-tone gold with the destination display set to "500 test route" or similar. Are Alexander still building in Ireland? Can't think of any other reason for that bus to be on that road otherwise

No.
It will have been built by Wrightbus in Ballymena, N.I then ferried over to Heysham. You'll have seen it being driven down to Southampton/Felixstowe to await the next ro-ro boat to Hong Kong.
