Hi

I am conducting some research into the construction of the 2 funicular's based at Hastings UK. It would be for an upcoming TV series Impossible Railways, this is a spin off series of the successful Impossible Engineering series.

If anyone knows anything or can point me in the direction of any info regarding the building of these I would be hugely grateful.

Thanks!

Completely off-topic (sorry, TwoFourRail) but there is a book called "The Impossible Railway" about the construction of the Canadian Pacific. Well worth a read.

It may be worth contacting the Hastings Tourist Board - I used to have family in Hastings and spent quite a lot of time down there, and I seem to remember there being quite a bit of info about the history of it on boards nearby.

My father used to work on the West Hill cliff railway before retiring. The local library and the East Sussex Records Office in Brighton may have a wealth of information available.

HI Dave. Are you still requiring help with this project?

I have a working 7mm/ft (O gauge) model of the East Hill Lift which I show at model railway exhibitions. I have a set of Hastings Borough Council drawings dated 1901 and 1903
