Computer Anti Virus Behaviour Shield Query

Good morning,

Are their any comptuter experts out there?

Does anyone know what the Behaviour Shield does?

I seem to be having some problems with mine over the past couple of months, automatically turning off, then I have to go into the programme to turn it back on but it only stays on whilst I am in my session, when I turn off and then go back on at a later time, it goes off and I have to repeat the process.

If I were to re install the whole anti virus programme again from ninite, do I need to uninstall the anti virus and anti malware programmes first.

I am not that tech savvy I'll have to admit and am wary of doing this, perhaps I should take my laptop to the PC repair desk that certain stores have?

Not necessarily. We only know that *something* is turning it off, it could be malware or it could be conflicting software.

Personally, if you are running Windows 8 or above I wouldn't bother with third-party security software. The built-in Windows Defender plus sensible computer security practices should be more than enough to keep you safe.

That plus backup often.

What najaB said basically. I personally would do a full scan with Malwarebytes then reinstall whatever you need for AV software. I still use Avast.

I've heard that it should be used alongside malware protection such as Malwarebytes, not sure how important this is but I guess it depends on how you use your PC.

Windows Defender on 7 isn't as comprehensive as the later versions. I'd suggest downloading the AV vendor's diagnostic/support tool to see if it gives you a clearer picture of what's going on.
