Do any SWT's 450s have damaged cabs meaning they've been "boxed" and in effect out of long term use in terms of not being able to be used as a unit on their own? I think there might have been a couple but don't know if they've yet been repaired.

With 444002 is it the cab that's damaged or something below the buffer-beam level that's damaged?

I remember hearing on this forum something about 450555 being permanently coupled into 8 or 12 car units, since the driving cab had nasty tree strike after one of the storms last year.

I believe it may be due to the whole of the diesel fleet (plus the Intercity fleet) being the first to leave in the next year or so.

Perhaps somebody local could confirm if that is still the case?

The rest of the GA 170 fleet is going through works for C6 overhauls and repaint currently, so that doesn't stack up. More likely is that it is a separate contract.

I believe the reason 170204 came back in ONE livery and not jumping the C6 queue is all based on liability. Its come back from Brodies in its pre-April condition which means it can have a few months shake down and all parties concerned can agree (or not as the case may be) that all necessary repairs have been made and the unit is fixed.

If it was patched up then sent right to Arriva Train Care before returning the AGA then if it came back and issues started coming up there would be lots of to-ing and fro-ing between AGA, Arriva and Brodies about who is responsible as there would be no evidence of the condition it left Brodies in.

As to when it will come out, not sure, it immediately went into the "queue for attention" road in Crown Point and AFAIK went into the shed today but there was final touches to be made, it was unbranded, stepboards are missing, things like that. Doubt it'll be out this week. IIRC 170270 spent quite a while on depot after its C6 before going out, although 170208 went out almost immediately.

XC have no requirement for tilt. The only tilt stretches were the WCML (which XC havent served since 2008) and banbury-oxford which I believe the relevant balises have now been decomissioned and removed as unnecessary

Any updates on the Watford Units? There was talk 350 264 might be scrapped.

The only 'talk' I heard was a run-of-the-mill Watford paper.

Did all the ex-Southeastern and Silverlink 508s go for scrap in the end? They were sat out of use at Donnington and Eastleigh for ages.

I suppose technically the record for EMU vehicle sat out of service longest must go to the Royal Mail 307s that are still rusting at Willesden to this day.

Actually speaking of Royal Mail, hasn't one of the 325s been disused for some time too?

313030 will be out of use for some considerable time.

PTOS is here at Selhurst Repair Shop.

Could parts of one of these long dead units be used on the Brighton-Hove shuttle?

Now that's a good idea. Wonder if it's feasible.

Or stick a diesel underneath and create a D313

What happened to 313030? Was it the Welwyn Garden City derailer?

We were looking for that one a few days ago - my mates last one!

Incident at Hornsey. Both ends at Hornsey (probably round the back roads) and the PTOS at Selhurst in the shed.

Thats why we could never find it!

Why was the PTOS moved to Selhurst - repair expertise or did they offer mates repair rates?

I'm fairly sure it was 325010.

Almost.
Only 3 coaches from 010 were withdrawn and scrapped.
One coach from 009 was withdrawn and scrapped.
The fourth coach from 010 was put into 009 and still survives.
