Getting Plumley to Old Trafford (Metrolink) fare on train

Can I get this on the train? I can't see Old Trafford as a destination online at NRE or Northern and can't get a journey planner to price up the trip.

I'll be travelling with my son and using our F&F railcard, so it should be cheaper than buying separate Rail + Metro Tickets, with the railcard discount.

I believe that for fares involving the Metrolink no railcard discounts are allowed I'm afraid. You may therefore be best getting separate tickets.

It will almost certainly be cheaper to buy F&F discounted National Rail fares to Altrincham, and pay for a separate Metrolink fare thence.

That was my thinking about the F&F discount, but the BR Fares conditions say that Railcard discounts apply.

But when you search for your same journey on BRfares and add in a railcard discount, it does not display any fares.
