Why can't it go down the line out of the way? The same reason it isn't going through to Minehead. Where exactly do you propose we put a 2+8 HST "out of the way"?

Everyone needs to stop talking total ****e unless you are involved with either the WSR or the charter organisers.

Seeing as I work for both, why don't I make this fairly clear.

43002 & 43185 are reported heading to Penzance tonight and back to Paddington sometime tomorrow morning.

Last reported working was 5C40 1825 BTM-SPM off 1C40 1530 PAD-WSM which terminated early at BTM, nothing else allocated.

Reported elsewhere that the set failed and went to SPM last night and 43093 has replaced 43185. However on the day I guess its just a case of wait and see!

43002 currently paired with 43093 and LA15. Although 43185 is on the marsh all day with a possibility of a move to OOC later if fixed.

Bringing this topic back to the original HST trip. Something came up while I was looking at a few pictures on Flickr. What was the main reason why the HST terminated at Bishops Lydeard instead of Minehead? I've seen gauging reasons cited in one or two comments, but it was only a few years since the last visit of an FGW HST to the West Somerset, and that did run all the way through to Minehead. Equally, Minehead station was used as a storage location for the First Group owned ex VT & MML HST Power Cars before refurbishment at Brush.
