Darwen/Leyland <> Blackpool North

Tomorrow I'll be going from Darwen to Blackpool North (1 child), meeting 2 friends (1 adult, 1 child) who'll be coming from Leyland, at Preston (arriving into BPN at 4pm ish). At roughly 9pm we'll all be travelling back to Leyland. I have a feeling the cheapest option is a DWN-BPN return and PRE-LEY single for myself and a LEY-BPN return each for my friends (unless DWN-BPN is valid via Bolton?). Many thanks for any help.

Think DWN-PRE plus LEY-BPN is slightly cheaper.
DWN-BPN via BON strikes me as optimistic and NRE doesn't allow it.

NRE brings up a fare for me but just noticed it's 4 separate tickets (DWN-BON and BON-BPN singles each way). Bromley Cross to BPN is valid via BON but that combined with a DWN-BMC single costs considerably more than your suggestion, which I think is the cheapest.

There's a Lancashire Day Ranger for (I think) £23/adult which should cover everything.

Only needs to be a single DWN-LEY as the OP isn't returning to DWN (by train anyway).
