I've got these Husqvarna ones. They've got an FM radio built in (note the aerial) and a jack socket for an iPod.
I even use them to do the hoovering in... :D

I've had the experience before of someone choosing to sit next to me on a train and then rather rudely complaining my music was too loud. I simply responded by showing my headphones weren't actually plugged into anything... didn't get an apology

I've had the experience of waking up on a very full train in the morning rush hour in Scotland when I was taking up all four seats in my bay with my bag, my feet and the rest of me in a similar way to the guy in the photo but possibly even worse.
Everyone was staring at me and I opted not to say anything in the end.
nb - probably best to wake him up because it's better than you waking up later and realising everyone hates you...

I've had that a few times - I tend to plug in automatically and then get distracted before I put anything on, so it's not unusual for my headphones to be silent. I think some people only leave the house so they can be offended by imaginary slights.

I've been on a fairly empty VTEC service (An 0555 service from Newcastle to King's Cross that was diverted via Hartlepool) and slept horribly the previous night so found an unreserved pair at the very back of Coach B on the HST (it was lightly loaded and lightly reserved overall) and I fell asleep but was woken up by a rude woman at York who apparently had to absolutely sit next to me despite there being a load of seats free and unreserved around her.

She sat down, broke out a copy of a broadsheet French newspaper, told me my music was too loud (I checked and it wasn't leaking out of my headphones) and nearly whacked me in the face with said newspaper.

I spent the next two hours trying not to plot a revenge.

That would have really annoyed me.

Talking of annoying passengers, I was sat in the tip up chair in the wheelchair bay of a Merseyrail train and then a guy gets on asking me to move to put his bike there. I do so to be polite, and then he selfishly takes the closest vacant seat (which I hadn't noticed was free until he sat in it) after I'd given my seat up for his bicycle and leaves me standing up for the rest of my journey.

Unbelievable. I think I'd have exploded in a most un-English way...

I nearly did mate, but ultimately I couldn't be bothered arguing with him. If I end up in a similar position in the future, then I won't be giving my tip up seat for any bicycles.
