Does anyone know what time the LHCS departs Euston on a Friday night?

Just get to stations a few minutes early if you plan to do a leap! especially wigan/warrington - it can run very early if they want it to.

Yes she departs from Euston at around 18:45 and as 'me123' stated she is set down only at all station stops there after.

I know from the first working it was hauled by 90018 with a rake of 6 coaches (a combination of Virgin and BR blue liveried coaches.) It is standard throughout although some 1st class coaches were out for some reason.

That's not actually correct apparently. According to a TM friend of mine, the WTT states that it's PU and SD at Rugby Midland. The screens at Rugby last Friday also suggested that this was the case!

I believe it's at Rugby at about 1940.

The annoying thing about this service is the removal of the AP fares! When it first went into the system, you could book APs on it, despite it supposedly being 'unreserveable'. Sadly, when I checked just over a week ago, the only tickets available were Anytime (and Off-Peaks with a Y-P).

So whats the latest regarding the LHCS future running then - if it failed why did a thundrbird not take over? Will they return next week?

I mean if a wasp (Pendo) ran it Friday, why not every week. Confused?!

There was a DVT fault. Thunderbirds aren't used to haul trains outright, after all, they are limited to 95mph, so that would incur considerable delays. There was obviously a spare Pendo that was able to be stepped up to run the service on Friday. In theory, there's always at least one spare set, in the event of failures- hence why it worked on the P05 on Friday. If the 'spare' set was to work it every Friday, then there wouldn't be a spare set on WB in case of other failures/ farces.

Because then your spare set is a 110mph set with messed up reservations. So you need a train to run non-stop to Stoke 3 minutes ahead of another fast train, so what do you do? Loop it and get it delayed or let it delay every other train? Far better to give the 90 a dedicated diagram and let the spare Pendo be flexible. (it also means haulage bashers can plan for it).

Off peak tickets are valid on it by the way.

Well, Virgin would be wasting their money, signing the contract for it's use if they aren't going to use it. It wasn't used last Friday because there was a TDM fault- (that was probably caused by lack of TDM testing when they swapped the 90 to 036), not because they simply didn't feel like using it . As long as preliminary checks are carried out before the ecs is due out on Friday evening, all should be well.

I've booked advance tickets on it for Friday 3rd April, hoping it'll be a Mk3 rake but don't care too much if its a Pendo...

Does it run with declassified FC in the train, and is it still declassified if its a Pendo, does anyone know?

Yeah the train ran in time from Euston (18.46). EWS livered 90018 up front with 82101 on the back in former Virgin red. The mark 3's were in former Virgin red livery and Inter-city silver and blue (same coaching as on WSMR). Christopher (CCF23)

The above trains will be unreservable with no advance fares being sold. In addition, the set will operate as a 'first class' and 'standard class' formation. This means 2 std & the rest FC is planned, again subject to change.

I really couldn't say which of these, if any, is reliable though!
