Is it too soon for me to start getting seriously excited about this trip?

It's going to be pretty damn awesome. I'm going on the extension to Perth as well, so it'll be a long day. Can't make it to Manchester Victoria in time in the morning though (too early), so I'll have to get on at Leeds and miss the thrash up Miles Platting :(

Probs a case of NR still validating times, I'd not worry yet.

Hope you enjoy the tour, I was hoping to do it but can't. :(

Timings are out, 0602 ex Preston back at 0026 Sunday morning, over 18 hours with a 40 minute break in Perth. Got to get up early for a trip to the NVR on Sunday as well, will be needing my bed Sunday night!

Oh, nice ?!?!?!
More or less the same as the Blackpool timings wise (start/finish) i think, maybe slightly later back, although we were running very early on the return on that one.

Tickets arrived! Hehehe! All set for a bashertastic day on Saturday. Think I might get on at Hudds ISO Leeds in order to do the route via Healey Mills. Have to get the first train from Saltaire for this though, which will be a bit of shock to the system these days. Shame I can't get to Manchester....

Hope to see em around Edinburgh (are there any good shots in Princes Street gardens anymore? If so where and is the tunnel mouth any good?) Also should see them at York as 60163 arrives about 40 mins before with the 67 departing 10 mins before they arrive....

Cheers,
Mark

Well it was a pretty good day out all round :)

High spot was the departure from York on the way back. Absolutely awesome thrash, socking it to the kettle lovers there to photograph the Tornado tour. Low spot was trying to get a pint from the world's most unfriendly barmaid (conveniently working in the world's most unfriendly bar), in Perth. Took forever to serve (had to change the barrel, but she didn't tell us this and just disappeared off for ages without a word), and we had to down it just about in one or we would have missed the train.

Saw it in Princes Street Gardens, and then the hellfire departure from York, you could still hear it 10 minutes later when it must have been past Colton, that EE Throb, nothing beats it!! For Comparison the Skip was unhearable once it got to Holgate!

Cheers,
Mark
