Out of 15 that turned up and a few got turn away for coming late also there was one person that came in jeans and shirt that didn't make it pass reception due to being late, arrived at 8.20am went to reception upon arrival got given an I.D badge and was told to get the lift to the 5th floor this is MTR Operations / Training centre

1st was the Group Bourdon Test (dot concentration test 5 pages)

2nd was the Trainability for Rules and Procedures Part 1 & 2 (listen to cd and read information to learn and recall job-related information also to learn new procedures and regulation, you can make notes on scrap paper but when the test starts the information and your notes are taking from you)

trial test (Scaat) doesn't count towards your results

3rd was the Test of Everyday Attention for Occupational Assessment(Tea-Occ) which you get a series of beeps Low and Hi tones you just got to count how many you hear the first tone is what you're listening for and that first tone counts as 1
then working through a phone book you have to circle two of the same patterns and the last part is doing both together.

4th was the Drivers Fault Finding Test (DFFT) which is similar to the practice test.

By the end of the day, there was 4 of us on the last test and three made to the second part of the assessment which is the computer test which being held at a later date.

There was MTR standard and National standard to make it through you have to meet MTR standard. i hope this helps.

Thank you very much for the update and I believe you are one of the 3. I did my best in practising...confident with TRP test 2 and DFFT as well as TEA-Occ. SCAAT, I can do any day, anytime, recently passed it with LU. I just hope I will make it thru GB and TRP 1.

Ok...so out of 15 people..7 made it to the Tea-Occ of which only 4 of us had to do it and all four passed. Out of the 7 in the DFFT, 5 made it to the second stage. Now the practice for day 2 starts..

I'm quite a calm individual so i'm hoping I won't get too worked up on the day. Been practising mainly on the gbt athough done about 2 hours covering all of them today. I think a lot may come down to how well you cope on the day and has been said on here to keep calm during the day.

I'll get the tie out and well done mate I knew you would get through as you seem really determined and hopefully i'm the same. Can't stand the thought of being sent home early. Certainly going to give it my best shot.

I believe you'll be fine...that confidence will definitely take you through. All the best..

Relax on the day Sotac, listen carefully to all the instructions and try to aim to be as accurate as possible on the tests.

Is there anyone here who has done their final interview? Since doing the stage 2 assessments in march I have not had a reply to when the date will be for interview? Anyone else had similar experience, should I be worried?

Completed the 2nd assessment day fairly recently.

If you search 'Multimodal Interview' on this forum you'll find a whole thread on the topic. Very helpful.

Go over the assessment material you were sent, do all the examples and practice - that's the best advice I can give. It will help alot.

On the day when you go in, you'll be given a sheet of paper which will list 6 questions that you'll need to give examples for which will be used in the later MMI structured interview. No time limit and very relaxed; everyone finished writing their examples around the same time.

The WAFV Vigilance, ATAVT Perception and 2-Hand co-ordination tests come next.

WAFV = 30 mins concentration test, a sqaure flashes up on screen and you have to hit a button when it flashes up darker.
ATAVT = image flash up on screen for a second and you have to select what you saw on the next screen. Possibly 8-10 mins long.
2 Hand - if you video game should be a doddle. 5-10 mins possibly.
SJE - the same type of questions you would have answered during the online assessment stages. I can't remember how many questions but there was a time limit.

After that you go for the MMI which will be about an hour long and be you expanding on the examples you gave that morning and answering questions.

Again, practice the material you were sent. Relax on the day. Be honest and open.

Thanks Sotac464..the same usual advice..be relaxed. Much simpler than day 1. Had a few beeps on hand coordination but that didn't worry me. Most of my answers were work based and all questions that came have been listed somewhere on these forums..if I can pass it...anyone who got through day 1 should have no problem with day 2.

They did actually bring up how well you do to get that far. They didn't give an exact number but said they'd had "tens of thousands" of applicants. I don't know how many positions there are but I'm sure I read somewhere they needed about 400 drivers.

Hey Nick thanks for your response, I have a few questions for you if you don't mind. What sort of things did they ask you? Was it structured questions like the mmi or was it more casual? Also did they say when they would notify you if you were successful or not?

Yep they notified me just now - got offered the position! Start in Jan or Feb next year Absolutely over the moon!

The interview is more relaxed than the MMI but its still quite formal. They ask about you, what interests you have, career change etc and knowledge of the company. Then a few MMI style questions. If you're prepared then you shouldn't have any problems. I was very impressed with it all - the managers came across genuinely friendly and you could laugh and joke with them. They will contact you to let you know how you get on. Think they said it could take up to 14 days.
